- 1 chuck or round roast (2-3 pounds for 4-6 people)
- Olive oil
- 1 can beef consumme
- 1 can water
- Salt and pepper the roast. Brown over medium-high heat for a few minutes on each side on the stovetop.
- Add roast along with the beef consumme and water to a crockpot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Use fluid in crockpot to make gravy.
