Week 106 Menu…and Happy Birthday, This Week for Dinner!

Yesterday was This Week for Dinner’s 2nd Birthday! I hope my blog can forgive me for my belated birthday wishes. I can’t believe the blog has been around for two years already. Where does the time go?

MONDAY:
- Asian Spinach Salad

TUESDAY:
Paninis
- Oven Fries (if I’m feeling adventurous) or chips

WEDNESDAY:
Bistro Chicken (this is EASY and YUMMY)
- Mashed Potatoes
- Veggie or Salad

THURSDAY:
– Leftovers

FRIDAY:
– Traveling

SATURDAY:
– Eat out

SUNDAY:
– Traveling

In honor of TWFD’s birthday, let’s get as many menus up here as we can! If you haven’t posted a menu before…please do! And if you post every week, keep it coming! Remember, ANY kind of menu is welcome…fancy, not fancy, easy, hard.  Just share your ideas!  And Happy 2nd Birthday!

    Fri- date night

    Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a long time reader of This Week For Dinner! I love this blog! I have never posted my menu but since it TWFD’s birthday… why not! I live in Germany and I look forward to every Monday morning to see the new menu! So here goes nothing!

    Monday- spaghetti, bread and roasted vegetables
    Tuesday- leftovers from weekend. We have a TON!
    Wednesday- grilled bacon wrapped chicken with vegetables
    Thursday- lasagna, bread and vegetables (we are having dinner guests)
    Friday- date nite! Kids are having pancakes
    Saturday- out to a party!

    I’ve had a roasted turkey breast from Honey Baked Ham in my freezer since Christmas, so I think I’ll pull that out this week!
    M: Turkey breast, bowtie pasta salad
    T: Same as Monday
    W: Turkey Sandwiches, chips
    T: Pancakes (or anything BUT turkey!)
    F: Ravioli

    Also, I tried the spinach prochiutto lasagna last week, and my family loved it. It was easy too, so I will definitely be making it again!

    Here’s the plan for this week – but it will probably change along the way!

    M- black beans & rice (Real Simple)
    T- carrot risotto (EDF Jan/Feb. 09) this has been on the menu the last couple weeks and I haven’t made it yet!
    W- Roasted potatoes & sandwiches or eggs
    Th- leftovers
    F- Easiest Indian Stew (EDF Dec. 08) This has also been on the menu the last couple weeks!
    S- Pasta/pizza/leftovers?

    Wednesday – Maine Shrimp Scampi

    Friday – out on the town…maybe. :)

    Happy Day! I think this is my first menu in honor of the anniversay.

    1. Chicken breast, fried
    baked potato
    steamed asparagus

    2. Spaghetti with sauce including cabbage and ground turkey
    salad, french bread (homemade)

    3. Leftovers

    4. White bean salad (trying a new recipe)
    other fresh vegies

    5. Lentil Soup incl. chicken sausage & lots o veggies
    w.w. bread (homemade and yummers!)

    6. Salmon on the bbq and peppers
    cukes and jimcama to munch
    sweet potato fries
    brussels with bacon and shallots
    lemon pudding cake

    7. Leftovers!

    My husband does a lot of the cooking but I am the baker of bread. I make a nice batch and keep extras in the freezer.
    We are trying to do more vegies, more fish and more whole grains…I want to get a good frozen yogurt recipe with agave to sweeten and fruit or something like that. The coconut ice cream would be so good.

    Since our new baby girl was born on the 14th, we’ve been blessed with lots of dinners from friends and family … and are still basking in some of the frozen leftovers. This week is my first attempt at a ‘plan’ although everything is subject to change! (I’m glad to see the Bistro Chicken on your list, I love that!)

    Monday-chili (from freezer), biscuits
    Tuesday-Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans
    Wednesday-Easy Apricot Chicken (also from freezer, already made), rice & salad

    Happy Blog Birthday Jane! I haven’t been sharing menus because we haven’t had any. I know you say post anything, but frozen nuggets & fries and chips & salsa hardly need mentioning. Hopefully once we get all our painting done and are settled into the new house I’ll be back to happy menu planning. :) Congrats again!

    Late getting my menu up this week but here it is:
    Sunday – White bean soup with peppers and bacon – leftover from freezer
    Monday – Bacon Potato Chowder and Sourdough bread – again, freezer leftover
    Tuesday – was supposed to be gnocchi with spinach and pine nuts but I can’t find Gnocchi ANYWHERE! So, I’m thinking a Kashi frozen pizza with spinach/craisin/walnut salad
    Wed – Spaghetti
    Thursday – Shrimp fried rice with broccoli and almonds
    Friday/Saturday – weekend away with hubby!
