Time to ‘swif swif’ with the Swiffer Wet Jet!

The Swiffer SocialLuxe Lounge is literally right around the corner! I can’t believe it’s already here…and I’m getting super excited. The music playlist is ready, my SINGLE dress has arrived (it’s lovely!) and I’m ready to party!

Swiffer® is the title sponsor of the event. As part of the sponsorship, they sent each of the hostesses the newly redesigned Swiffer® Wet Jet® with Antibacterial Solution. Cate and I gave our new Wet Jet a test run today, with great success! Here are the reasons I am really liking this new Swiffer Wet Jet:

1) The pole is stronger. You can get much better leverage and it just feels nice and sturdy. I am so happy they made this improvement!

2) The scrubbing strip has been moved to the front of the mop, which is nice and handy.

3) It’s battery operated! I had a similar wet mop years ago that had tubes I needed to rinse out, and the little trigger that was kind of ‘iffy.’ The Swiffer Wet Jet has a nice, simple, battery-powered button that sprays the soap through dual-action sprayers (fancy!).  There are no tubes, no messy bottles to pull in and out spilling all over the place. It’s just smartly designed.

4) Cate is in love with it and wants to clean all day long!

Seriously, she loved “Swiffering” the living room and would have all day if we didn’t make her stop to eat! And look at all the dirt she cleaned up! The floors were mopped just three days ago with a traditional mop…I can’t believe all the dirt the Swiffer Wet Jet picked up! (Should I be embarrassed for sharing this picture? Oh well!)

Big THANKS to Swiffer for a great Wet Jet and for being the title sponsor for our party!

I normally hate snarky comments on blogs and newspapers, but come on… did they pay you for this post or just sponsor the event? I cleaned my kitchen today with ammonia and water.. and it worked great.

The initial cost of these swiffers aren’t bad (I used to use one in my old apartment), but then it is like razor blades… the refills get expensive.

My son loves to use the Swiffer too! (I’m sure he thinks it’s a toy.) I don’t question it. Though, watching him swiffer makes me chuckle as I know this phase won’t last long . . .

  3. c2cmom – isn’t that the BEST part, how your kids are so excited about the swiffer that they think they love cleaning? love it!!!

TC…I was not paid for this post. Yes, Swiffer is our title sponsor for the party (which means they gave us money, of course, for that sponsorship)…and, as I mentioned in the post, they sent us these Swiffer Wet Jets as part of the sponsorship. I have used these types of mops over the years so I have experience with them. This one truly is a great, convenient mop option and I shared all of the things that I honestly like about the Wet Jet. Believe me or not…but I only ever write about products if I truly like them, to maintain the integrity of the blog. If I don’t like something, I don’t write about it. I agree – ammonia and water can work great as well! As a mom, though, I must admit that I love the convenience of the Wet Jet – they make for quick clean-up and are really handy.

  4. Swiffer SHOULD pay you for this post! Your photos are gorgeous and all of the improvements sound really nice. Now I want one for the apartment I hope to rent someday.

I think this would probably be the best way to clean sensitive wood flooring. I couldn’t imagine ammonia would be good on the finish, but I’m no cleaning expert.

Just be careful…that Swiffer Wet Jet built up a film that took me a YEAR (yes, 12 months) to get off of my floor- I mopped weekly with vinegar and water after finally figuring out that it was the wet jet that made everything smudge on my floor- especially bare feet. Hope it doesn’t happen to you!
