Busy Body Book Giveaway!

No food today. My brain is still in vacation mode. And we’re still eating leftovers. But you know I love you and have to give you something, even during these lazy hazy crazy days of, uh, winter. Since 2011 is just a few days away, I thought we could talk calendars. Sound good? Good.

I’m pretty picky about my calendar/organizer. I like to be able to see a week at a time but still have enough space to write lots of stuff on each day. And it has to be PAPER. I’ve tried Palm Pilots, iPhones, online calendars, you name it. As techy as my life may be, I rely on good old pen and paper for tracking my day to day calendar. I had a Franklin Covey organizer years ago, but it was really just more than I needed. So, I generally browse the bookstore each December hoping to find something semi-decent.

About a year ago, I received a Busy Body Book at a blogging event. Of course I approached it with skepticism, like I do all calendars. But I hadn’t bought a planner yet for 2010, so I figured I’d give it a try.

I LOVE IT. Here’s why:

  • The grid layout is super handy
  • I can see a week at a time and there’s plenty of room for notes/lists/appointments/etc
  • The cover design is super cute and has a nice, thick plastic cover, making it nice and sturdy
  • It’s spiral bound
  • There’s a bookmark that you can move from week to week

A few weeks ago I realized I was almost out of calendar! ACK! I emailed the owner of the company (wonderful Joan), begged for a few copies (1 for me, 3 for you), and a few days later my beautiful new Busy Body Book showed up on my doorstep. And I’m happy and organized once again!

And, yes, I did say I drummed up three copies for you! This post is a giveaway, just like the title says! Three of you lucky people will each receive your own Busy Body Book…and you’ll get to choose the cover style! Like all my giveaways, just leave a comment on this post, one per person. You have until Midnight PT on Monday, January 3 to add your comment. Your comment can be anything, but this might be a fun chance to take sides on the paper versus electronic calendar debate. I feel a battle coming on! The randomly-selected winners will be announced on January 4.

Good Luck!

My “life” is organized on paper, my work is organized electronically. For whatever reason, the two do not meet. I so need one of these today. I realized, that I don’t have one!

I love my Blackberry but I can’t seem to get organzied with it, I have really tried but I still find myself going back to paper lists of things to do, etc… This looks awesome and if I’m not lucky enough to win one, I will be purchasing one….although winning something will start 2011 off perfect!! Thanks for sharing.

I had been using my phone as an organizer/calender and one day it slipped out of my hand and into the washing machine! there was no way to save ANYTHING. The sales guy tried to tell me about synching my new phone with a computer…but all I heard was “wah wha wha” (ya know, how the the adults sould on a Peanuts cartoon). I vowed to never use electronics to organize my life. I would love a new “old school” planner!

My meal-planning can only improve from the current state of last minute panic for my fam of five. Good thing I made meal-planning a resolution for this year; now that I’ve written it down…I’m bound to succeed ;-) Will be checking in through 2011!

I to spend a lot of time looking for the perfect calendar in my quest to become more organized every year. I tried the electronic route but my computer and phone calendars do not talk to each other and I keep losing my phone. Paper is the way to go!!

  25. I’m a paper girl. I’ve been burned by technological crashes/dead batteries one time too many to rely solely on my computer!

I am a big fan of paper and pencil. I have an IPhone and love it but do not like the calendar section. This sounds like just what I need to keep organized this year.

Just had to weigh in that I am super impressed that paper won out in the comments section here. I, personally, love the paper calendar…I just figured I was old school, but feel very refreshed to know that out of 329 of you (including Jane) how favored paper calendars are. Personally, I make my own in Word/Pages, so the layout is helpful for me to look at for future ideas.

I know I missed the deadline but I had to comment anyway. I have not been able to convert to an electronic calendar. At home I hang a desk calendar on my pantry door and use a different colored pen for each member of the family so I can easily let who has something going on during the week. I use a small calendar in my purse and still use the different colored pens. I like the extra space this calendar has.

Thank you for sharing this. I went to their website and bought one. I also bought one of the nondated calendars that has magnets on it so I can put in the fridge or somewhere. This will help me be so much more organized. I’m usually chaos.
