I’m not feeling great today, but Nate decided some fresh air and big ocean waves would do us all some good. We drove down to the coast and spent the morning watching giant waves crash against the shore. It was beautiful. And Nate was right, the walk out to Mavericks was pretty much the only time I didn’t feel sick today. Must have been the ocean air.

I love this shot of the boats on the harbor. It was a silvery, misty morning. And no, this photo is not in black and white. Pretty amazing.

Now that we’re home, time to snap back into real life and get our menu planned for the week!

Hello! My name is Jane Maynard and you've landed yourself on my blog, This Week for Dinner™. Every Sunday I share a weekly menu...and then count on you to share your own! You'll also find other deliciousness that I hope you'll enjoy!

I went out and bought myself a pre-made meal planning notepad and I already feel much more organised (and grocery shopping was a breeze too!)
This week:
Monday – home made pizzas (with assorted veggo toppings) – friends coming for dinner
Tuesday – red quinoa salad
Wednesday – housemate possibly cooking
Thursday – veggie burgers with roasted veggies
Friday – Roast veggie salad
Weekends are a bit of a free for all – but I hope to get to the farmers markets for inspiration for next week
Your walk sounds lovely! I really should do the same this morning before it gets too hot.
I’ve been looking all over for a meal planning notebook with grocery shopping pad all in one. No luck yet. Where did you find yours if you don’t mind me asking?
I found a notepad at Walmart, in the office supply section, that has like 30? sheets and each one is a blank, full month calendar. It’s about 5″x7″. Not specifically for menus, but I think it works perfectly for it! And, it was only $3.00.
Thanks Pedey!
Hi Michelle,
I got my notepad from Kikki k in Australia (I think they sell online too). It doesn’t have a grocery list included but they have very cute separate lists to buy. http://www.kikki-k.com/shop/product/meal-planner-red/
So much easier to plan meals when you are writing on something pretty!!
Hope you feel better soon Jane! Here’s what’s on tap here:

And it always does makes me feel better when I’m a little under the weather or just feeling blue. Plus, our dog loses her mind with excitement rolling around in the sand and surf.

My husband and I had brunch with friends this weekend and we were talking about how much we’d love to move to Sausalito. Are you in cahoots with him and posting these pictures to get me to move???
I have a question for you and your readers…do you know of any recipes or any way to turn baby food puree into solid? I have $30 worth of organic baby food jars and the baby is refusing to eat. He wants table food now. (Great, this means I actually have to cook!)
Any suggestions would be helpful! mommy-chic.blogspot.com
Do you have Jessica Seinfeld’s cookbooks!?? Her recipes all call for different purees of veggies. Even if you don’t love the recipes it might inspire you with other ideas of ways to use it in foods you DO love!
I put all sorts of veggie purees into stuffed shells, meatballs, pancakes or thicken a soup!
Thanks Pedey & Bonnie! I’ll try the veggie purees. I have a few jars of fruit & oatmeal mix (prunes+oatmeal, and peach pear barley) and fruit mix purees (banana mango) that I’ll have to figure out what to do with. I actually like the banana mango, but the oatmeal mixes have a consistency that I can’t eat!
Mix the fruit/oatmeal ones into loaves of banana bread! – in place of the oil.
After watching Julie and Julia, I’ve wanted to cook my way through an entire cookbook. I received a Williams Sonoma vegetarian cookbook for Christmas this year, and I think this is the one I will cook my way through–1 recipe at a time:) I started last week with an edamame, corn and avocado salad–it was delicious!
