Thanksgiving is just over a week away, so I think it’s time we all share our menu plans for the big day! Of course, if you don’t have it pulled together yet, just come back later when you do!
I seriously have been in such a baby fog I didn’t even realize Thanksgiving was so close, so we haven’t thought much about what we’re going to do that day. But I do know we’re going to eat! I’m going for a simple menu this year with our all-time favorites.
- Turkey and Gravy
- Mashed Potatoes
- Pat’s Butternut Squash (recipe to come later this week!)
- Sweet Potato Souffle
- Green Beans (not a casserole, just straight up green beans)
- Canned Cranberry Sauce (yup, canned this year and it will be delish!)
- Homemade Rolls
- Pumpkin Pie (I’m going to just buy a Duarte’s pie from Draeger’s)
- Swedish Apple Pie (recipe to come later this week!)
- And, of COURSE, Cranberry Slush!
Please share your menu plan for Thanksgiving! And if you have links to recipes and/or can type recipes into your comment, please do! I’m certain we can all be great inspiration for one another for the best eating day of the year!

Hello! My name is Jane Maynard and you've landed yourself on my blog, This Week for Dinner™. Every Sunday I share a weekly menu...and then count on you to share your own! You'll also find other deliciousness that I hope you'll enjoy!

Is it terrible I don’t have a menu plan yet? But then I know that this is one day when we will pick from family favorites and I might make one new thing (like vodka orange cranberry sauce?)
I’ve categorized all of my Thanksgiving recipes together; not just for readers but for my first readers…my friends and family!

We Canadians have already celebrated thanksgiving in October, and this is what we had as a family..
*BBQ Chicken breast in a Honey Soy Marinade
*Mashed Potatoes with Cream Cheese and Sourcream
*’That Good Salad’ – romaine with bacon,tomato,garlic-y croutons, plenty of Parmesan cheese and a tangy vinaigrette.
*Roasted Carrots
*Parker House Rolls
*Cornbread stuffing with Cranberries, Pecans and spicy italian sausage.
*Layered Cranberry jello salad and
*Dessert was a pumpkin cheesecake
Yum! Maybe we should also celebrate American Thanksgiving…a meal like this would be great twice a year!
I’m trying to figure out the best way to make dairy free mashed potatoes. Eek!
Turkey
4 mushroom stuffing
Crock pot sweet potatoes
Green beans
Orange glazed carrots
Cranberry sauce(If a friend from on base gets us some)
Vegan butter rolls
Canned corn
Mashed potatos
Pumpkin pie made from almond milk
Use chicken broth instead of milk and butter. A friend of mine swears by it!
Thanks! I’ll give it a try.
use rice milk! my son can’t have dairy so i use rice milk (or almond milk) and olive oil or earth balance “butter”
My parents and in-laws are coming. Both grandmas decided they will take care of the cooking. Hooray! I am blessed! I am in charge of dessert and shopping for ingredients.

I have a menu! I know I haven’t posted any menus for a long time. Sorry to be one of the “flakes”! I DO have a Thanksgiving Menu, though. Here you go:

Dressing (in dish, NOT turkey!) (Mom)
Mashed potatoes (guest)
Sweet potatoes (me–I am looking for a good recipe right now!)
Green Beans (guest)
Fresh Cranberry Orange sauce (me)

Apple pie (Mom)
Pumpkin Pie Cake (me) (http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,176,129181-252197,00.html) Have any of you ever had this? It is seriously yummy and I think it is better than pie. It has the same pumpkin filling mixture at the bottom, but a wonderful top!
AND…I think I am going to try the Cranberry Slush this year!
Happy Thanksgiving Jane and all!

His sister’s loved the french silk so every year after, I made or bought a chocolate pie for them to enjoy!)
