Remember rice candy?

I do. I received a box when I was in first or second grade that I cherished. There’s something about an edible wrapper that seems magical. I don’t even remember if I liked the candy itself, but I loved the idea of it. I haven’t had this candy since then, but last night Cate got her own box for the first time at a birthday party. When I looked at that packaging, it swiftly brought back memories that made me smile. Cate just tried her first piece and said, “It’s good” very matter-of-factly. Then, after a few minutes and the wrapper had dissolved in her mouth, she changed her review to “It’s awesome!” The magic continues.
I don’t even know how to plan this week’s menu, since I can only eat soft foods. Honestly we might end up eating out a lot, but I’m planning a menu anyway to see if I can get my act together!
MONDAY:
- Cream of mushroom soup
TUESDAY:
- Eat out to celebrate my sister’s arrival in the Bay Area! (She’s moving here and we are beside ourselves with excitement!)
WEDNESDAY:
- Chicken Piccata with mashed potatoes
THURSDAY:
- Chicken Soup with Rice
FRIDAY:
- Leftovers
SATURDAY:
- Eat out
SUNDAY:
- Omelettes (I really need to do a post about Nate’s technique, maybe this week I’ll finally take some photos and pull that together for you all!)
It’s time…time for you to share your menu for the week! Remember, we don’t care what’s on the menu, fancy or not just share!

Hello! My name is Jane Maynard and you've landed yourself on my blog, This Week for Dinner™. Every Sunday I share a weekly menu...and then count on you to share your own! You'll also find other deliciousness that I hope you'll enjoy!

Hope you’re feeling better! I’ve had chicken piccata on my menu forever but I’m actually making it tonight. Yesterday was supposed to be chicken piccata but we had ribs, home fries, 7-up biscuits & brussel sprouts. So, this week’s plan:
Sunday: Chicken piccata with herbed angel hair, grilled zucchini and chocolate chip cookies for dessert
Monday: Pumpkin and bacon pasta with roasted asparagus
Tuesday: Ranch crockpot pork chops with parmesan smashed red skins and broccoli
Wednesday: Good old fashion mac & cheese (probably going to try cooking it on the stovetop in the milk), fish sticks and probably peas or broccoli again
Thursday: Baked cream cheese spaghetti with salads
Friday: Chicken tikka masala and coconut rice, papaya and some veggie — maybe green beans?
Saturday: Pizza on the grill with salads
Get well soon!
as much as chicken piccata sounds good, I think your rib dinner sounds divine!
thanks for the well wishes…

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! I didn’t get to it on Wednesday, but I think I’m going to do it on Sunday or Monday. I’m nervous!!

I sure miss living in the Bay Area. We lived there when we were first married, and every couple weeks I still have a serious, yet insatiable craving for a Buckhorn Grill Tri-Tip Sandwich.

This is a chicken-heavy week, glad I just went to Costco!

Your husband did a great job! I’ve been on modified bed rest for the last 16 weeks, and got SO tired of Quesadillas, PB&J, or stuffing-something-in-a-tortilla-and-calling-it-a-burrito every night. Love my husband to bits, but I finally just started throwing things in the crock pot for a little variety
love that you’ve rubbed off on your husband, jodie! good luck with the bedrest, no fun!
