Week 289 Menu

It’s our last day of vacation. Last Sunday we explored the marsh in Cohasset. This week? Fun with press-on nails and glamorous headbands!

And the crowd goes wild!

Lest you think we are leaving anyone out of the fun, we do encourage equal opportunity pressing on of nails.

(Big thanks to my sister-in-law Cora for letting me post these photos today. She’s a champ. A very, very glamorous champ.)

We are traveling tomorrow, but then it’s back to real life. I hope I can successfully get back in the groove!

MONDAY:
- Airport food

TUESDAY:
- Caprese salad and crusty bread

WEDNESDAY:
- Homemade pizza

THURSDAY:
- Leftovers

FRIDAY:
- Breakfast for dinner (most likely waffles and fruit)

SATURDAY:
- Eat out

SUNDAY:
- Tuscan Tomato Soup

I think that’s a pretty good “easing back into life” menu. We’ll see how well it goes! Thank you for continuing to post your menus the last few weeks even though I didn’t myself. You’re the best! Can’t wait to see your menus for this week!

  1. Mmmm. Airport food. I’ve done the Legal Seafood and the Harpoon Tap Room at BOS and both are good…for airport food. I still think JFK’s Terminal 5 has the best food situation at a domestic airport. The Berghoff Cafes at ORD are notable as well, but I think that has more to do with their selection of house microbrews.

      we’ll be at boston airport dinner time before our flight, so maybe we’ll hit the legal seafood…I miss their chowder!

    Have safe travels home. I always say I need a vacation after getting home from a trip, all the laundry, getting back into routine and kids back to home routines. :)

    Mon: Mexican Rice and Beans (Not Your Mothers Slow Cooker Family Faves p. 238)

    Tues: Crockpot Chicken, Potatoes, Veggie (Me: Salad and Baked Sweet Potato)

    Wed: Recreating Noodles and Company Backyard BBQ Salad (with a twist. Will be posting how it turns out!)

    Thurs: Spaghetti, Ciabatta Garlic Bread and Italian Green Beans

    Fri: Sandwiches (pepperoni for the girls, turkey reuben for hub, and avocado/tomato/hummus for me), Chips and Veggies w. dip, Watermelon

    Sat: Make your own Personal Pizza

    Friday – pizza?
    saturday – out with my sister-in-laws for a Barleyjuice concert!

  23. Coming back from vacation is the worst. And I’m one of those people that allows the thought of the end of vacation to ruin my last day or so (I can never quite enjoy that last day b/c I’m too busy thinking about getting back and how much that sucks).
    Anyway, I guess I’m lucky (not really) not to have that problem right now!

    Tuesday: going to the pool with the kids afterwork so it’s crockpot time: Slow Cooker Meatball Subs with Roasted Sesame and Honey Carrots

    Thursday: Curried Chicken Penne with Mango Chutney (Cooking Light)

    Welcome back! I’m back from vacation too and it’s tough to find the motivation to grocery shop, much less cook something. But since we were out of hotels for the last eight days, the desire to eat healthy, home-cooked meals has overcome my laziness. Plus, we are having guests every day for the next eight days (three different groups of people!), so I HAVE to grocery shop.
    Sunday: Grilled chicken, zucchini, red onions, and red peppers with an orzo lemon-herb salad.
    Monday: Zucchini & corn enchiladas with rice and beans.
    Tuesday: Leftovers or tex-mex calzones.
    Wednesday: Grilled veggies and couscous with a greek-yogurt and feta sauce.
    Thursday: Veggie lasagna with garlic bread and salads.
    Friday: Chicken, pesto and bacon paninis with sweet potato fries and some green veggie.
    Saturday: Not sure yet — sister, BIL, 1-year-old niece, and 3-year-old nephew in town so maybe take out or something grilled. Or buffalo chicken wraps because they sound good.

    Mon. had Grilled Pork Tenderloin seasoned with Penzey’s BBQ 3000*, corn on the cob and grilled zucchini + summer squash

    Tues. Chicken w/Thai Peanut Sauce, Sauteéd Kale, Green Salad

    Wed. Burgers, Baked Beans, Sliced Cucumbers w/vinegar, Green Salad

    Thurs. some sort of Rice and Beans concoction w/CSA veggies

    *I discovered Penzey’s Spices about six months ago and am totally hooked! The flavor and quality highly outweigh the shipping costs!!
