Week 409 Menu + Thanksgiving Menu 2014

It’s Thanksgiving week – I can’t believe it! Today it’s mostly all about the Thanksgiving menu, but I’ll also share our menu for the whole week, which is pretty sparse because all the attention will be on the turkey!

This year we will have Nate’s sister Jess and her family here with us for the entire week, and the Czarnecki family will be joining us on Thanksgiving. We will be surrounded by people that we love dearly and I can’t wait!

2014 thanksgiving menu from @janemaynard

Time for the Thanksgiving menu! Here’s what we’ll be having. As usual, we’re sticking with everyone’s favorite classics.

As for the rest of the week…here’s the menu plan!

MONDAY: Malibu Melt Wraps

TUESDAY: Taco Night

WEDNESDAY: Taco Leftovers

THURSDAY: THANKSGIVING!

FRIDAY – SUNDAY: Leftovers Galore!

Please share your weekly menu as usual…but we REALLY want to see your Thanksgiving plans! Share, share, share!

In no particular order, this is what I have on hand to make for dinners this week:

    A new lasagna recipe
    Potato Leek Soup
    Crockpot Chicken Fajitas
Simple Stuffed Shells (your recipe! a fave 🙂 )
    Quesedillas
    Leftovers, if there are any?
    Pancake Night
    Turkey!!!

We were supposed to go to my brother’s house for Thanksgiving, with us bringing most of the side dishes. They are usually out of town, but this year they are home and my sis-in-law got all excited about finally being able to make their own turkey. I got a phone call on Saturday and somehow it ended with them now coming to our house and us making the turkey! And they are bringing their dog! (who we love, but it just turned into something bigger than I was planning…) Good thing I’m a nice sister 😉

Also, I have to comment on your Cranberry Slush tradition – we have a “Mormon Champagne” tradition. Since we don’t drink alcohol, we always felt left out growing up because all our relatives are not Mormon and do drink alcohol. So, my mom invented Mormon Champagne (orange juice and ginger ale) and even bought wine glasses for us (my mom’s the best!) I’ve carried on that tradition and my kids love it 🙂

sorry to hijack your blog post – i got a little long…

    Happy Thanksgiving!! 🙂

Mmmm sounds so delicious. I NEED to make the cranberry slush asap!

We are visiting family for Thanksgiving, and are only contributing snacks for game night, bottles of Martinelli’s sparkling apple cider, and a pumpkin pie. And this week in general we’ve been cooking minimally. But we are excited to partake of the goodness that is our family’s traditional Thanksgiving dinner!

Oh my gosh. So late to the party. I was off the hook this week! We were in FL for Thanksgiving visiting family. So I haven’t had to cook all week! Back to reality now….and the snow. :). We’ll make up a couple pumpkin pies and some stuffing – since they are family favorites.

  17. thanks to everyone who posted! I’ve been busy with family and not commenting much, but I read everything you posted – happy thanksgiving!
