  4. Sunday, January 15

    Week 260 Menu

I threw together some chocolate chip cookies last night. I didn’t eat them all. But I should have. The girls woke up this morning, saw the pan and proceeded to beg for cookies for breakfast. Really, I should have taken one for the team and put all the cookies down last night. Now I know. Lesson learned. ;) Also, for some reason, I just couldn’t let the girls eat a cookie for breakfast. Definitely a case of “do as I say, not as I do.” Not that they’ve ever seen me eat a cookie for breakfast, but, well, I’ll admit it may have happened before…

    Menu time!

    MONDAY:
    - Pesto Chicken Salad Sandwiches (recipe to come)

    Week 259 Menu

This morning I cut into my first German butterball potatoes. Doesn’t that name just sound scrumptious? They are yet another new discovery from our CSA…and, yes, I live in the land of bread and honey…our CSA goes all year. If we ever move from California, I won’t know what to do with myself! Anyway, back to the potatoes. I was surprised how yellow the potatoes were inside. So fun!

Menu time! A few repeats from last week because things didn’t go quite as planned…

    MONDAY:
    Orange Chicken and rice
    Roasted Cauliflower

Time for you to share your menu for the week! I love that so many of you are making it a resolution and loved seeing all the first time menu posters last week. Keep it coming!

    Week 257 Menu

    Merry Christmas!

My Christmas present to myself this year is NO MENU! :) That’s right, I’m rebelling and not planning a thing for the week. We’ll just pull stuff out of the freezer, eat out, pick at leftovers…you know, holiday eating!  I’m thinking Christmas chocolate should keep us sustained, right?

Hope you all have a great holiday season whatever holidays you are celebrating!

And, if you do by chance have a menu planned for this week, please leave it in the comments!

  8. Sunday, December 18

Anna has officially taken butter to a whole new level. She’s such a pipsqueak, we figure a little fat will do her good.

The holidays are here. Hanukkah starts Tuesday, Christmas is Sunday…I imagine many of us are running around like crazy people! I hope we can all find some quiet moments this week to enjoy the things that really matter!

I for one am looking forward to making my annual batch of vetebröd, the yummiest Swedish cardamom bread this side of anywhere.

I can’t WAIT to see your menus for this week, as I’m sure many of you will have wonderful holiday meals (and sweets!) planned. And even if you don’t, I still want to see your menu, so bring it on! :)

  9. Sunday, December 11

    Week 255 Menu

When I was out the other day working on one of my Picture the Holidays prompts, I snapped this shot of someone’s front gate. I still can’t believe it’s already Christmastime!

Our menu plan went way off schedule last week…we ended up with lots of leftovers to work with between our soup and a rotisserie chicken Nate picked up one night. My menu is very reminiscent of last week’s…sorry for all the repeats, but I figured I may as well not recreate the wheel if I don’t have to!

    MONDAY:
    - Chicken Teriyaki with rice
    - Potstickers and a veggie

    TUESDAY:
    - Work party that serves dinner

    WEDNESDAY:
    - Barbecue Chicken
    - Corn bread and a salad

    THURSDAY:
    - Leftovers

    FRIDAY:
    - Eat out or something super easy like grilled cheese…we’ll be wrapping up a birthday party right at dinnertime!

    SATURDAY:
    - Eat out (another birthday celebration that day!)

    SUNDAY:
    - Waffles
    - Fruit

This week is both my girls’ birthdays, so I’ll be in birthday cake mode! Can’t wait to share what we come up with!

Share what you’ve got planned for the week! I love reading through all your menus each and every week!
