Week 157 Menu

I finally organized the Recipes pages!!! {cheers erupt from the masses} It was quite a jumbly mess, kind of like my real recipe box (see below)…but after some hard work, the online version is finally more navigable. I still have recipes to add, and I have even grander recipe visions to implement this year…but until then, at least you can find recipes much more easily.

  3. Okay…so I’m, at 49, new to this meal planning and cooking thing. Some stipulations, my husband is low/no carbs and he is attending a class two nights a week, so he does leftovers and I go back to my single ways and eat Cheerios.

    Sunday–chicken salad
    Monday–Parmesan chicken and mixed veggies
    Wednesday–Buffalo turkey burgers with ranch dressing and no buns, tossed salad
    Friday–steak and rice with veggies (I give blood on Sunday, and I need some iron!)

    I have a food ideas folder with stuff I cook and stuff I might cook and stuff I’d like to cook but never will due to too many ingidients or time or… Everynow and then I clean it up.
    su – garlic chicken, mashed pot, carrots, spinach.
    m – leek and pot soup, good bread.
    tu – tacos w/ fixin’s.
    w – talipia w/ tom, garlic, basil, rice.
    th – pizza.
    f – leftovers.
    sa – pasta w/tom sauce and veg.
    Now I’m going over to take a look at your recipes.

    mo – pot pies (homemade with puff pastry tops)
    tu – Quesadillas
    we – grilled cheese and tomato soup
    th – pierogies and onions/peppers
    fr – veggies and rice
    sa – french toast and hash browns

    Wed-out to eat-hubby’s birthday

    Fri-chicken francese (from America’s Test Kitchen), roasted potatoes, green beans
    Sat-out to eat after an extensive amount of errands

    Saturday – Roast Lamb or out depends if we can get a babysitter

    I was meant to make chocolate panacotta the other week but didn’t due to the extreme heat, it is meant to be cooler this week so should get it done

    I only do a 5 day menu, I leave one day open for left overs and one day open something simple or a previous homemade frozen dinner.

    Whoa! Late again this week. I’ve noticed, though, that even if I don’t take the time to do menu planning on the weekend, it’s starts happening in my head. Kind of becoming a habit, which is good!

    Mon: We had the “pizza” baked fish from last weeks menu!
    Tues: (Costco) Meatloaf and mashed potatoes, green beans
    Weds: Soft tacos/taco salad
    Thurs: Chicken Tikka Masala, rice, Veg
    Fri: Dad’s birthday dinner–we’ll probably go out
    Sat: Making raosted squash soup this weekend so that plus some bread will be one meal… 🙂
