Anolon’s Wicked Awesome Nouvelle Copper Cookware…and a Giveaway!

This giveaway is now closed. Thank you!

I couldn’t think of a title for this post. I’ve used the “I’m in love” phrase too much. I think you’re going to stop believing me when I say it, even though it’s always true. So, I figured “Wicked Awesome” would get your attention…and simultaneously pay a nice tribute to the New Englanders (make that ‘Englandahs’) in our family.

But I digress. I have a random assortment of pots and pans. Some of them I like. Some of them just barely get the job done. This past January I met the folks from Anolon at a food event and they had their lovely Nouvelle Copper cookware on display. As soon as the representative started describing the features of these pans, my goal in life became to get myself a set.

So why exactly did I want to get my hands on the Nouvelle Copper cookware so desperately?

  • They are copper pans at the core, and copper is awesome for cooking. Even heat distribution and whatnot.
  • Anolon Nouvelle Copper is made with DuPont Autograph II non-stick, which is metal utensil safe. Yes, you heard me correctly – you can use metal utensils and scrubby sponges to your heart’s content!
  • The rivets are flush with the pan. Why aren’t all pans made this way?
  • These pans are induction stove-safe, which is perfect for my dream induction stove that I will have one day.
  • These pans have a heavy-duty, high-quality feel to them. And their bottoms? Super heavy. Now I can actually grab my “heavy-bottomed pot” for all those chocolate recipes that heretofore mocked my lack of decent cookware.

So, after contacting them and begging a bit, Anolon did in fact send me my dream set of cookware. (Another 10 points for sticking with my food blog all these years! Thank you, Anolon!!!) I’ve had the pans for, oh, 3 months and I still haven’t even mentioned them. But, as you know, I haven’t been doing much cooking lately. The last few weeks, however, I’ve finally gotten to use my beautiful new pots and pans. They are just as wonderful as I’d hoped they would be.

UPDATE 3/16/16: We still use these pans every day and I really like them a lot. One of the pots is starting to have some of the non-stick surface scrape off, but it’s only on one piece. So, just wanted to let you know about that!

As much as I’d like to share my beautiful set with you, it’s mine and I’m not giving it up! But Anolon is going to give one of you lucky folks your very own Nouvelle Copper 10″ skillet (retail value $79.99)! You want this pan. Trust me. Simply add a comment to this post by Midnight PT on Tuesday, April 5 to be entered into the drawing (one entry per person and must have continental U.S. mailing address). One randomly-selected winner will be announced on April 6! GOOD LUCK!!!

  5. 5

Oh, those look lovely. I always lust after the fancy copper pans I see in gourmet kitchens.

  6. 6

Oh my! Maybe I should start a food blog too!!! I have been searching for the best pans to get. My husband knows how much I cook and would even pay for them if I could just choose a set. This pan may just be what I need to help me decide. 🙂

  7. 7

    They look amazing!!

  8. 8

We’re ready for a new set of pots and pans, but my husband and I both cook, and we can’t agree on what to get. He is tired of non-stick coatings eventually flaking/chipping/peeling off. But I don’t want to cook with the amount of oil/butter that is necessary for non-non-stick pans. If I won this I might be able to prove to him that there is a good non-stick option out there.

  9. 9

Oooh, I need a new skillet. This would be perfect!

  10. 10
    Jean von B

Oh this would be wicked awesome to win. Yes I’m from New England. I totally should get extra points for that! Or at least an extra entry! 😉

  145. 147

I love my cookware, but it’s not non-stick, which I find is fine for everything except eggs. So once a year I buy a super cheap non-stick skillet at Target that I use until those little black flecks start showing up in the eggs, and then I buy another. Clearly this pan is the solution to my problem.

  146. 148

Yes, I need one of those to replace the skillet I use practically every day and is eight years old!

  147. 149

I would love love this pan!!!

  148. 150

Oh, I love copper! And metal utensil safe means I don’t have to worry about scary bits of non-stick stuff flecking off into my food.

Sounds just like what my little Swedish heart has been looking for w/o even knowing it:) My parents visiting from Sweden and cooking with my pots and pans just said they’d wish I could get some new pans…like the ones used in Sweden. I think these might be it. Now, I’m crossing my fingers and hope I’ll win:)

    Those look amazing!

  174. 176

    That pan looks fantastic!

  175. The copper feature of this pot sounds awesome, but honestly I’m most excited by the flush inset rivets. Seriously genius idea. I agree, why aren’t all pots and pans put together this way? I loath scraping things off the not nearly flush rivets on my current set of pots and pans. I didn’t even know flush rivets existed. I definitely know what feature will take priority in my next search for new cookware! Thanks for the awesome review!

  176. My pots and pans are so NOT wicked awesome. Would love to upgrade 🙂 Hope all is well, prego! xoxoxoxo

  331. 334

A good skillet is so essential. Thanks for offering this giveaway.

  332. 335

Nice score on the pot set. I think a lot of people are missing the important feature here though. Yes the new non-stick is nice and the copper core is a plus as well. The one feature we have all suffered with is rivets. Consumers see rivets and think it must be a good pan, for the most part this is true. The problem has been that every single one of those pans has an area in it that cooks try to avoid. It is nice to see a main-line manufacturer strive to make the cooking easier on all points.

  333. 336

copper heating and nonstick…I am in!

  358. I gave up cheap cookware years ago when carrying a pot of pasta (and the boiling water) to the sink to drain. The handles broke off, the scalding water, hot pasta (and my dinner!) splashed all over me, made a mess of the kitchen and made me scream “No more cheap pans!” Enjoy your Nouvelle Copper Cookware, it will last you a lifetime!

  359. 362
