Happy Friday! I survived our first full week of summer at home. Yay! My strategy is to work a bit each day and then plan one fun thing to go out and do with the kids each day (even if it’s just a stop at the library or sprinklers in the yard). One of our fun activities this week was watching Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. I can’t even tell you how excited I was when it came onto Netflix service recently. The kids totally loved it! I especially love how nervous Cate would get during the suspenseful scenes, it was crazy cute. Also, I can’t believe how much of that movie I still have memorized. Kinda scary.

My show and tell is a BIG one… This week, I let my 2 older boys walk the mall all by themselves!!! (ages 12 1/2 and 9 1/2) And they even brought their own money and bought stuff and got correct change and no one mugged them and we all returned home safely. (must have been all those mom prayers I said!) But really, my older son is one of the last of his friends to hang out in “tweenager places” without me, so this is a big step for me! It was scary, but also kinda nice. We will probably do it again. 🙂
that is so fun to hear. I’ve thought about that milestone myself…in a couple years for us. it’s funny, my brother and I were walking to the gas station/grocery store ourselves to get candy when we were in like kindergarten and 3rd grade….it’s so different now! but I loved those outings and remember them well. glad that it was a success!!!
I didn’t know this movie was on Netflix! Haven’t seen it in ages!!! Love it.
