I am happy. Do you know why? Here’s a clue…
Figured it out yet? Need another clue?
I have a new iMac. I know, I’m totally giving Apple free advertising here, but I don’t care. When I got home from BlogHer Food late Saturday night, I walked into the house to find this lovely surprise on my desk. My previous computer was 6 years old, and while it was a good computer, it was time for retirement. After all, 6 computer years is like 120 human years. Nate decided this would be a nice birthday surprise for me. He was right. 650 GB of beautiful storage space and 4 MB of speedy RAM later I am the happiest graphic designer/blogger/mom-with-thousands-of-pictures this side of the Mississippi. Isn’t Nate the best?
For those of you who notice the details…yes, our Inbox/Outbox is full. And yes, I don’t have the fancy new keyboard yet. It’s coming. And if anyone can spot something super scandalous, you win the prize for best eyesight.
What a great surprise. My hubs surprised me with a Mac on my b-day in Feb. You will LOVE IT!
ooo, I know I will! my last computer was also a mac. this is not a PC-bashing post…but I will just say I love me my Mac computers. 🙂
What’s that title with playboy about anyway?
Amy, you are GOOD.
That is the “Twelfth Anniversary Playboy Reader” that we picked up from Nate’s Great-Grandmother, of all people! When she moved out of her house (at 101 years old!) we inherited this book when we were helping her clean out the house. It obviously caught our eye. We thought it was so funny it was on the bookshelf of a proper New England lady. There are NO pictures…and tons of essays from the likes of Ernest Hemingway, Vladimir Nabokov, Martin Luther King, Ray Bradbury, D.H. Lawrence, Jack Kerouac, John Steinbeck and Henry Miller…to name just a few. Seriously, how is THAT for a conversation piece? 😉
Lucky! The iMac is awesome (I have a macbook which I love but I’m still jealous of the screen. Sometimes size does matter).
lol. I had the old 23 inch monitor before this…this iMac is 24 inches. I’ll never be able to go smaller! obviously, my laptop (old powerbook) isn’t that big, but I only use it in emergencies!!
I LOVE my Mac! I will never go back.
You lucky girl, you! I’m on a 4 yr old PC and ready to toss it out the window. The latest issue? It won’t allow me to re-install fonts after reformatting the hard drive (for the 2nd time in it’s life…).
Oh man, I got to this post too late because I would have known the answer. You told me the story a few years back when we were sitting at my house visiting. I won’t add the extra info you told me then about someone being truly and completely appalled, but I still laugh about it. Love your new computer Jane! Lots of husband points for Nate!
My husband has converted me to Macs. I LOVE ours! Won’t ever go back.
great eyes! I don’t do much with graphics, but I know Macs are best for that stuff. I Do know about chocolate; Hmmm maybe I should try that brand!!!
Looks like a fun outing, Jane.
I read you blog all the time, I am bad about posting menus, but I love all your ideas. I too recently was given a new mac from my hubby, I am a mac girl all the way.
I thought, “Well, maybe she’s embarassed about Auto Repair for Dummies, but that doesn’t seem very bad …” And then I saw the Playboy book. 🙂
Jane, I have an imac and I’m a HUGE fan of it. I belong to apple’s one to one program (which I highly recommend). The more I learn about my mac, the more I love it.
Enjoy!
Ooooooooh! Seething with jealousy and MAC induced rage. You lucky girl.
