Today I want to introduce you to my new dishwasher. Everyone, meet my dishwasher. Dishwasher, meet everyone.
So, who is this pretty lady? She’s the brand new Bosch 800 Plus Series 24″ Flush Handle Dishwasher in Stainless Steel. She has a long name, kind of like royalty. That’s how fancy dishwashers roll, folks.
I’m going to do a few posts about this dishwasher and why it is SO AWESOME, but today is just a first date. She doesn’t want to scare you all off with talking about herself too much. She has good manners like that. Remember? Fancy, royalty-type dishwasher we’ve got here.
I am really, really, REALLY loving my new Bosch dishwasher. Bosch brags a lot about how quiet their dishwashers are. Well, the bragging is well-deserved. The first time I ran it Anna was with me. We turned it on, closed the door and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t start. We did this several times, then Anna spotted the light on the floor (it projects how much time is left!) and we realized the dishwasher WAS on. We honestly could not hear it! Anna thought that was so funny and giggled like crazy. She was also really proud she discovered the light on the floor. (Side note: it is really nice having someone else in the family who is just as enthusiastic as I am about the new dishwasher!)
Fair warning: if you ever come visit me and get a tour of our new house, you will be subjected to a long speech about the various features of my dishwasher. I just can’t help myself. I’m pretty sure my mom was thinking, “Uh, yeah, okay, can I see the kids now?”
Speaking of our house, the new dishwasher fits right in. I’m especially happy we chose the flush handle since the dishwasher is tucked away in the corner there. It’s worked out perfectly.
Big thanks to Bosch for providing me with this dishwasher. Bosch is wonderful to work with and I look forward to sharing more with you about their products!
Disclaimer: Bosch provided me with the dishwasher in exchange for reviewing the product. While they are wonderful and generous, all opinions are my own and, as always, I will share my honest opinions.
It’s beautiful! A quiet dishwasher is a must!
I need to get big and famous like Jane so I can score some appliances.
WOW… I was thinking the same thing! I could use a new washer and dryer, dishwasher… you name it! I’ll review some stuff… for sure!
We have have built three houses and in all three houses we have purchased a new Bosch. We LOVE LOVE LOVE Bosch! My husband said that he would rather have a cheep cheep fridge to be able to get a Bosch. We are building another house next year and we are already looking at which Bosch to get. Congrats!
It’s a beauty!
She looks beautiful in your kitchen. I would love some Bosch appliances. My mom is on her second mixer, she loves to cook for the masses. I’ve decided I might have to ask for one for Christmas and break my no appliances as gifts rule. 😉
our rental home came with a high end Bosch, cant tell from the picture if its the same one or not. for the most part its amazing but a few little tips and tricks we’ve learned – use about 1/2 the detergent you used to, this thing is POWERFUL and doesn’t need as much soap. be sure to push the drawers ALL the way in before starting the machine so the water is connected. also, if you figure out how to best load it, please let me know! my usual dishwasher tetris isn’t working and i find i have to run it quiet often since i can’t get as much in as with other machines…
it’s powerful AND smart. it wasn’t using up all my soap at first – you’re are totally right, you need less soap for sure. but also, there are sensors in the dishwasher that monitor the cleanliness of the dishes throughout the cycle and adjusts the wash accordingly. I was rinsing everything before loading when I first got the washer (because that’s what I always HAD to do)…Bosch told me I was technically “pre-washing” my dishes and to stop doing that. just put the dirty dishes in! I use a lot less water when I do the dishes now and the washer works more efficiently, too!
as for loading it – I LOVE the third rack (do you have that? I put a lot of stuff up there), which I will write about in another post. I load bowls in the top rack along the right and glasses and cups obviously in the top rack. in the bottom rack, I keep the silverware holder on the far right. medium-sized plates go in the front left, bowls and small plates go in the front right, and then bigger plates go along the back. I find I run it about once a day just because we use up a lot of the dishes we need and I usually have a bit of extra space. I don’t know if these descriptions are helpful at all – hopefully!
ok…so I have to say as a person who has seen YOUR dishwasher in person I spent lots of time staring at that beauty…until I could figure out how to start the darn thing! it was so high-tech and cleaned like a a dream.
then I went home to my old clunky dishwasher…so sad. just one of the million things I miss about staying in your house.
Beautiful…..simply beautiful!
I love a good dishwasher and appreciate stories of people’s wonderful dishwashers (weird, but true). I have no idea how anyone lives without a one.
Congratulations!
Awesome looking dishwasher!
Omg, envy! I better start saving for one now! 🙂 Love your recipes, too! Feel free to check my recipes out at http://www.BetterOffHealthy.com.
I was drooling over a similar model in a showroom a few weeks ago. It has this amazing silverware rack that separated all of the utensils, so there was no “spooning” of spoons, etc. Brilliant!
I’m sold. The cheap-o dishwasher I have is SO LOUD. So loud that I can’t hear the doorbell if it’s running. Oh you came to visit me at my house? Sorry, the dishwasher was running so I didn’t answer the door.
Sah-weet! She’s a beauty. Quiet dishwashers are a must-have! You’re a lucky girl. Hugs!
Our dishwasher is so loud, we only run it when we leave the house in the morning. You would think something so loud would get the dishes super clean… but it doesn’t! We just saw a dishwasher commercial (it might have been for this one) and thought by the time we give in and get a new dishwasher, the technology will be so far advanced that the plates practically clean themselves!
Gorgeous! We just purchased our first Bosch DW over the past year, and love it!
Hi there! how much space do you have between the dishwasher and the cabinet- or what is the width of that little strip of filler? (Just wondering if the knobs on the cabinets will get in the way when opening the dishwasher door- ours strip came in at 3″)
Thanks in advance
Hi Cathie!
Okay, I have my tape measure out and I’m ready to help, but I’m not totally sure where to measure! when you look at the picture of my dishwasher, on the right side there is 3 inches between the edge of the dishwasher and the corner of the cabinets. when I open the dishwasher door, the door clears the cabinet handles by about 1.5″. Is that helpful? 🙂 Let me know!
