Rachel Sandwich

Rachel Sandwich
I’m about to share with you my all time favorite sandwich. Let me introduce you to Rachel. Yes, Rachel is Reuben’s sister. Similar, but not as greasy and just so delicious. My friend Jami introduced me to this delectable delight. We used to get Rachels at a deli on (I believe) 2nd Street in East Cambridge, MA.
Recipe type: Main Dish, Sandwich
  • Good bread, sliced (french, wheat, rye, whatever”¦ as long as it’s good – I prefer NOT rye)
  • Sliced Turkey
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Coleslaw (with the dressing, not just plain cabbage)
  • Thousand Island dressing
  1. Construct your sandwich then grill on both sides. Can’t be beat.

  1. Oh my I had forgotten about these wonderful sandwiches I used to get these at a deli in Waban MA when I was in grad school!

I’ve never even heard of these but am going to try them. Not a fan of sauerkraut so these might placate my family – lol!

  3. Homemade coleslaw on there? One of the great sandwiches…

in that particular picture right there…yes, homemade coleslaw! the sandwich I’m making today, however…coleslaw mix from the grocery store! 🙂

  4. This is a Zade sandwich in my family. Zade is Yiddish for grandfather. He passed last year at 90. This sandwich, add red onions, and that’s what we all think of as his meal. It was even talked about at the funeral. Thx for making me think of him and smile.

I’ve made these with all different types of meat including corned beef and brisket. Use a George Foreman grill sprayed with cooking spray…almost makes it like a panini. They are awesome!

I really think the rachel just might be my most favorite sandwich. love it! my george foreman from a million years ago bit the dust, might have to snag another! 😉

Hello would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m looking to start my own blog soon but
I’m having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Apologies for being off-topic but
    I had to ask!
