You guys. Today’s episode. It makes my heart happy.
When I was in New Orleans last month, we went to a small blues fest in a tiny town in the Mississippi River Delta. Mia’s Eatery was one of the food vendors at the festival and Mia herself was serving up her wonderful creole food. I immediately fell in love with both Mia and her daughter Maigan and, lucky for me, Mia agreed to do an interview for the podcast.
Mia’s Eatery is just half a mile from the New Orleans airport, so if you are ever in New Orleans, be sure to swing by on your way in or out of town to meet Mia and enjoy her food. Mia serves up authentic Creole cooking. When I was digging around the web for a website to link to, I found a review online that pretty much sums up what Mia is all about: “I had not reveled in such authentic Creole flavors since I was a boy. At first bite, I was suddenly transported back to the 1959 world of a 6 year old boy growing up in Algiers Point. (Across dah rivah from Dah Kwatuh ovah dair in Dah Pernt.) Talk about a best kept secret! And the service makes you feel like you’re at Grandma’s house…”
And with that, I think it’s time you stop reading my words and listen to Mia’s voice.
