Is it really time for another menu? And do we really only have one more week of summer before school starts? I just can’t believe how fast time flies…I need it to slow down to a leisurely walk rather than an Olympic sprint.
Pears came in our CSA bag this week. Pears are one of my most favorite fruits, so to have them grow locally is super exciting for me. I think if I were to have a yard and I were to plant one kind of fruit tree, it would be pears. I can only imagine how heavenly they must be ripe off the tree!

The peach carrot bread sounds awesome! I’ve seen a lot of recipes that use babyfood carrots to things like that becuase they make it really moist. I thought that was interesting becuase I had never heard of it before.

You know, it’s been over 100 degrees for 40 days and NOTHING sounds good to eat! By the time we heat up the house from cooking on the stove or in the oven, we’ve lost our appetites. And it’s painful to stand outside over the hot grill, even for 2 minutes!
We’ve been eating out a lot more than I’d like, but I just don’t know what to make.
Readers: Any ideas on cool, summer foods? Must have meat. Sorry, I know you’re promoting an ‘eat less meat’ effort, but we’re in Texas and cows just walk up to our front doors! (I’m kidding.)
PS – I made this easy Pad Thai recipe a few weeks ago which was so good!
Happy Sunday!
