Week 305 Menu

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Our weekend has been fun and sweet, filled with small moments like these that overwhelm me with gratitude.

The kids have been pretty good the last few days and we’re not sick of them or the leftovers. It’s a miracle! I suppose we still have one more day of the weekend to get through. 😉

MONDAY:
Turkey sandwiches with cranberry and cream cheese
– Fruit and chips

TUESDAY:
Turkey a la King
– Rice and veggie

WEDNESDAY:
– Take out

THURSDAY:
– Leftovers

FRIDAY:
– Nate and I are going to the Pac-12 Championship game. GO STANFORD!
– Food at the stadium for us, pizza at home for the kids

SATURDAY:
Chicken Piccata
– Mashed Potatoes and veggie

SUNDAY:
– Spaghetti
– Salad and bread

    S: Turkey empanadas. We’re going to resurrect Thursday’s turkey that my wife’s mother and aunt cooked for five hours (it was a 14 lb. bird…yikes).
    Meatless M: Barley stew with leeks, mushrooms and greens
    T: Beef stew with egg noodles
    W: Portugese chicken and rice
    R: Pasta with marinara
    F: Takeout
    S: TBA. I have a work event that day and depending when it wraps will decide what, how and if I’m cooking.

    Doing a pantry/deep freeze/veggie garden clean out this week! And trying to eat somewhat healthier :/
    Sun: Mel’s Broiled Lemon-Parmesan Chicken, Light Broccoli and Rice Casserole
    Mon: Sweet and Sour Cabbage Soup, Whole Wheat French Bread (Didn’t get to the Stuffed Cabbage last week, so I’m turning it into a soup.)
    Tues: Arroz con Pollo, Tomato-Avocado Salad
    Wed: Turkey Tacos
    Thurs: Julia Child’s Beef Carbonnade, Cauliflower Fritters, Garden Salad with Red Wine Vinaigrette.

    This is my first post. I just found this website and I’m loving all of the ideas and the real life menus!

    Sunday: Red Beans and Rice, French Bread (Hubby’s night to cook!)Toasted beef and cheese raviolis with red cream sauce, cucumber salad.
    Monday:
    Tuesday: Pork tacos with lime cilantro crema. (Pork loin in the crock pot with salsa.)
    Wednesday: Shrimp Piccata with orzo and asperagus.
    Thursday: Panko Talapia (from Costco), pasta and a veggie.
    Friday: Breakfast biscuits with eggs and sausage.
    Saturday: Girls night out, so probably hot dogs or burgers for the guys.

    I don’t plan for a specific day; I just plan 4-5 meals and make what I feel like/ have time for on a particular day. I’m working full days Mon – Wed, so less time to get things together those days.

    Chili, cornbread
    Ranch chicken, au gratin potato bake
    Taco salad
    Tortellini soup, veggie
    Chicken pot pie (the filling is in the fridge, thawing – made double recipe last time)

  5. not sure all depends on what the doctor says tomorrow about husbands oral surgery. He is hoping to be eating regular food after wednesday.

    Sun: Rachel Rays veg head chili

    Tues: Fritatta and Banana Muffins (odd combo but both are so good)

    Wed: Spaghetti, garlic bread, and roasted green beans

    Thurs: Chicken, Mashed Potato, Veggie (leftover spaghetti for me)

    Fri: Calzones or Pizza (either way homemade)

    Sat: Burgers, Fries, Mac n Cheese (homemade black bean burgers for me)

    Sun: Pasta Fagoli nnd homemade bread

    It’s getting chilly, and I’m cleaning out the fridge, and I try to do most cooking/prepping once a week, and so I have a soup theme cooking up here (most of the soups I made today):

    Sunday: Afghan Tomato Soup with Farfalle
    Monday: Italian Fish Chowder with zucchini and artichokes, served with garlic toasts
    Tuesday: Beef Stew with Walnuts served on rice
    Wednesday: Chicken Sloppy Joes
    Thursday: Fending for ourselves; my night class
    Friday: Zimbabwean Chicken Soup
    Saturday: First Christmas party of the season!

    Sunday- just back from thanksgiving at my sister-in law’s. house. Oh so much wonderful food! So no leftovers, made lamb burgers on the grill
    Monday – salmon with baked potatoes and Brussels sprouts
    Tuesday – mushroom soup with bread and salad
    Wednesday – chicken with rice
    Thursday – chili with corn bread
    Friday – out
    Saturday – leftovers

      nom,nom,nom….i want to eat at your house! Hawaiian chicken, shrimp and grits and enchilada pasta. Sounds like you live in the south!

    Wed – boys have indoor lacrosse – something light when they get home- whatever for me!

    Thanksgiving was at Mom’s, and I hate leftovers, so I declined bringing any turkey home 🙂

    Sunday- out for Chinese
    Monday- grilled steak, rice and steamed broccoli
    Tuesday- out for Husband’s birthday- hibachi grill
    Wednesday- dinner with my mom
    Thursday- turkey meatloaf and broccoli
    Friday- pizza
    Saturday- out with the band for parades

    Wow, I just realized how much we’re eating out this week! Here’s hoping next week is better!!

  13. I’m expecting another little one and I finally feel like I’m coming out of the “fog”. I made a menu today AND went to the grocery store AND cooked dinner. WooHoo mommy is BACK!

    S- Chicken soup with Farro and swiss chard
    M- eggplant casserole & steamed broccoli
    T- Beef and Barley Soup & garlic bread
    W- Turkey meatloaf (You’d think we’d be sick of turkey, but we’re not.), mashed potatoes, and green beans
    T- Out
    F- Date night for Mommy and Daddy so out to eat.
    S- Butternut squash farro with brown butter and sage sauce with stewed collard greens on the side.

  16. I MUST get back into menu planning! The holidays are just too crazy not to do it.

    M: Seared ginger-lime albacore medallions with stir-fried veggies and brown rice
    Tu: Spinach salad with crumbled blue cheese, candied pecans, granny smith apples, dried cranberries and homemade balsamic vinaigrette

    Th: Cranberry-pecan chicken and 60-second brussels sprouts (We’ll see if I can stomach more poultry by Thursday — sooo done right now.)

    We LOVE leftovers. I finally got around to removing the turkey from the bones, freezing it, and making stock. So we’ve got lots of turkey to eat this week.
