If you have a Trader Joe’s nearby, you may want to skip this paragraph. Because I may introduce a new addiction to your life. Have you tried the milk chocolate and dark chocolate crisps? I discovered these treats at Cost Plus. They were Belgian and we decided to try them out, then the very same afternoon discovered a knock-off version being sampled at Trader Joe’s. We bought those, too. They’re like Pringles but made out of chocolate and, therefore, infinitely better. They have tiny little crispies throughout and are soooo yummy. The girls call them “chocolate chips,” which confuses me every time!
I can’t believe it’s Sunday already! I’m stealing a lot from last week’s menu. We had a bunch of events last week that I didn’t have written on my calendar, so I forgot about them when I planned our meals.
MONDAY:
– Hot dogs, hamburgers and other BBQ eats
– Strawberry Shortcake
TUESDAY:
– Chicken Pot Pie
WEDNESDAY:
– Stuffed Peppers
THURSDAY:
– Chicken Caesar Wraps
– Fresh Fruit

– Joining some of our friends from ONEย at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Family Event – can’t wait!
It’s Memorial Day weekend, so I understand if you take a break this week. But if you do happen to plan a menu, please share as usual! Happy Memorial Day, everyone!
Happy Memorial Day, Jane, and all! Alas, I have to work so I’ll be taking my Memorial Day holiday some other day. However, our daughter came to visit this week (she’s entering her senior year in college and she will be staying and working in Arcata, where she goes to school, this summer) and I took a few days off while she was here.
My Sunday menu this week could have been titled, “Eat More Fish: A Simple Sunday Salmon Supper”. I wish I’d thought of that before I published the post.
Baked Butter Lemon Salmon
Steamed Rice
Sweet White Corn
Vella Chardonnay

I have to laugh because every time I’ve seen these “chips” at Trader Joe’s, I turn away in disgust… I actually thought they were chocolate covered Pringle chips!! (gross! who thought of that?) I’ve never gotten close enough to the package to read their true identity. Ha ha! Now I know better and will have to try them. ๐
My menu this week consists of BBQ tri-tip for Memorial Day and a pizza party for my son’s football team on Wednesday. The rest of the week will be filled in with recipes to try from my new family cookbook! My sisters and sisters-in-law all contributed our favorite recipes and made it into a cookbook to share with each other. I can’t wait to try some new ideas!

This is off topic, but I just want to say that your chicken pot pie is a God send. I love love love chicken pot pie. n However my son has congenital heart disease and has to limit his salt intake (very difficult for a 4 year old whose friends get to have chips and stuff) Most commercial brands have tonnes and tonnes of salt. With your recipe I can just make sure to get low sodium options for the ingredients. Thank you so much. We had it last week and it was delicious. I missed chicken pot pie so much.
