Week 413 Weekly Menu

Happy Sunday! I cannot believe that this week is CHRISTMAS. We’re happy here at the Maynard house because my friend Nikki delivered her famous box of Christmas goodies to us yesterday. I may be stressed and crazy but at least I have Nikki’s beautifully-dipped pretzels to keep me happy!

– Takeout (We’ll be busy with Cate’s birthday party! That’s right, both my girls have birthdays the week before Christmas!)

– Breakfast for Dinner (I think Yorkshire Pudding)

– Chinese Takeout – a Maynard family tradition!

Bulle (Swedish Cardamom Bread)

– Leftovers

– Quick trip to Mexico, so I imagine Mexican food!

– More Mexico!

    Wednesday: Shepherd’s Pie Casserole
    Thursday: Roast Turkey with Apple Brandy Glaze, Sauteed Brussels Sprouts with Hazelnuts, Mushroom-Taleggio Twice-Baked Potatoes, and Ovaltine Pudding with Honeyed Rice Krispies
    Friday: leftovers
    Saturday: Georgia Pecan Crusted Breast of Chicken and Georgia Peanut Salsa
    Sunday: Fried Clams and French Fries

    Happy Holidays!!

    sat – tortelloni with spinach and pea pods
    Sun – orange chicken and broccoli over basmati rice
    Mon – turkey chili in the crock
    Tues – lasagna from the freezer, salad
    Wed – spinach Stromboli, pepperoni Stromboli to Inlaws for xmas eve
    Thurs – roast beef at my moms
    Fri – baked eggs over sweet potato & sausage hash

    i can’t wait to hear about the Mexico trip!

    Our plans:
    Monday – chicken pot pie (from leftover rotisserie)
    Tuesday – takeout italian
    Wednesday, Christmas Eve – tapas style, with lamb chops, shrimp cocktail, cheeses and crackers and a new BLT bruschetta recipe
    Thursday – braised short ribs, twice baked potatoes and green beans for Christmas dinner
    Friday – pizza night with travelers arriving
    Saturday – traditional turkey dinner
    Sunday – continuing the traditional with ham!
    Mon through January …. Leftovers! 🙂

  5. Merry Christmas to everyone!! We’re hosting a dozen people again this year – the first time in our new house.

    Sunday: Jimmy Johns after seeing the village’s light display
    Monday: Homemade pasta and roasted sweet potatoes/apples
    Tuesday: Burgers on homemade buns and roasted broccoli
    Wednesday: Small plates as everyone is traveling to us via planes, trains, & automobiles
    Lentil chili
    Veggie pizza – a classic and family favorite
    Sausage, cheese, and crackers
    Christmas cookies
       Cocoa balls
       Candy cane cookies
    Thursday: We have some favorites – some new recipes. All we know is we’ll have a GREAT time cooking and an even better time eating it all. 🙂

    Tuesday- out to dinner with family visiting from out of state
    Wednesday- Latkes, applesauce, buttered herb egg noodles, brussle sprouts
    Thursday- Bacon wrapped pork loin with balsamic glaze, carrot soufflé, mashed potatoes, winter salad and lots of Christmas cookies!
    Friday- Leftovers
    Saturday- Leftovers or take-out

    Saturday: Elemental Arrecheras with Guacamole and Fresh Salsa
    Sunday: Breakfast for Dinner-Pumpkin Pancakes
