Mon – carrot & red pepper soup, veggie dogs, tater tots, green salad

    Fri – pancakes & fruit

Hi Jane, I just had my first bowl of Kai Pa Lo. That was a delicious recipe! I like how it’s so simple to make. Of course, when I read the recipe, that first thing I thought of oyako donburi. As subtle as the Japanese dish is, the Kai Pa Lo is on the opposite spectrum of flavors with the garlic and five spice powder. I’ll be keeping this recipe handy.

    • I’m so glad you liked that recipe, it IS super tasty! last time I made it owen was much younger and he wouldn’t even try it. this week he declared it his second favorite dinner (after the rotisserie chicken from Sprouts, haha!). anyway, so glad you tried it and liked it! three cheers for the penzey’s spice catalog!

I hadn’t heard of Penzey’s until a couple of weeks ago. A friend mentioned they have a sale on spices now — a “teacher” welcome pack with a spice or two and a teacher’s pin for $6? I’ll have to check out their store.

    • I love Penzey’s so glad you finally discovered them!!
