Week 696 Weekly Menu

Well, life took an interesting turn. I cut my hand on a flower vase and now have to see a hand surgeon to repair my thumb’s flexon tendon. My dominant hand is down for the count for the time being and I can’t cook. SOOOO…as our family adjusts for the next little while, I’m planning meals that my girls can easily pull together with little to no coaching. Also, it just took 20 hours to type that, the first thing I’ve typed since the injury. Who knew switching thumbs on the keyboard would throw my speedy typing off SO much?! Send lots of luck to the Maynards this week! 😉 I am also foregoing the cute menu graphic this week…at least I got this far!

    Hope for a speedy recovery! You might need to try one of those Dragon voice transcribing things.

    Sun: Grilled fish in fig leaves, roasted artichokes, buttered pasta (last of the fig leaves on the tree)
    Mon: Pork patties with cucumbers and lemongrass dressing, broken rice
    Tues: Shrimp and grits, grilled mushrooms
    Wed: leftovers
    Thurs: leftovers
    Fri: Udon with kohlrabi and smoked King salmon collars
    Sat: Seafood stew from Stanley Tucci’s cookbook

    Thu: Homemade tomato soup, grainy bread

    Sat: Tacos

    Yikes, I hope you get to take a break and order some takeout. You deserve a rest!

    Here’s this past week’s menu:
    Sun- pasta
    M- leftovers
    T- chik fil a
    W- crock pot chicken thighs with carrots and potato and some vinegar and water to carmelize (That did not work by the way and the vinegar smell gave me a headache)
    Th- leftovers
    Fr- salad with pizza
    Sat- tortilla soup from Costco with 1 carton of chicken stock and water added into slow cooker
