Week 87 Menu

I am so excited about this week’s menu…mostly because I don’t have much to do with it! Thursday is my 30th birthday and we’re going on a little trip to Carmel, CA to celebrate. I AM SO EXCITED! Although, I’m not excited I only have 4 more days in my twenties. Remember thirtysomething? I thought they were all SO OLD.

Last night I grabbed some clam chowder from Cook’s Seafood, a restaurant here in Menlo Park. It was quite yummy. And steps away from my house. Convenient, but dangerous!

On to the menu…

MONDAY:
– Stir fry
– Rice
– Pick up a few sides from our local Chinese restaurant

TUESDAY:
– Carmel!

WEDNESDAY:
– Carmel!

THURSDAY:
– Back home…but we’re going out to eat, without the girls!

FRIDAY:
– Natalee’s Butternut Squash Soup…gotta try this recipe out! (It’s posted in the comments here, if you’re interested)

SATURDAY:
– Good friend in town…I’m sure we’ll eat out!

SUNDAY:
– Spinach & Pancetta Stuffed Shells w/Asiago Cream Sauce
– Garlic Bread
– Salad

Time for your menus!

Happy Belated Birthday Jane! I remember thirtysomething too, and thought they were all so old. How depressing! Well, you are three years younger than me. And, hey 30’s are the new 20’s you know. 🙂

Sorry, this is very after-the-fact, but I bought all the ingredients to make your No. 3 Green Noodles and I just have 2 questions: When you say Cream Sauce, do you mean regular old flour, butter, milk with pesto mixed in? and do you serve it hot or cold? Thanks!

    hi laurel!

    definitely serve it HOT 🙂

as for the sauce, yeah, a classic cream sauce with pesto mixed in will work. if you go back to the original post (http://www.thisweekfordinner.com/2008/09/featured-recipe-no-3-aka-green-noodles.html) my mom “MaWa” made a comment describing how she does the cream sauce from scratch, and it’s super easy, so definitely go check out her comment.

good luck – wish I was eating at your house tonight! 🙂

I’ve been enjoying your blog so much, so I thought I’d finally share. I’m cooking for a very traditional Irish man and three little boys in my family…so we have a lot of the same dishes each week and it is very meat-heavy.

Here’s where I’ve started keeping track (in hopes of creating a master list for each season to work off of!):http://inthecommonhours.typepad.com/in_the_common_hours/whats-for-dinner.html
