Friday Show and Tell!

Hello from New York! I’m about to hop on a plane headed back for San Diego after just about 45 hours or so. It was a whirlwind trip but very productive and included a Potbelly sandwich and cookies from Momofuku Milk Bar. Life is good.

Just two quick things to share today! I wrote two posts on Babble this week that I’m kinda proud of. They both involved a lot of research and I learned a lot, so I’m excited to share them with you!

As always, please feel free to share anything you like! Happy Friday!

  1. That sounds like a quick trip, but if chocolate is included, it was probably worth it 🙂

I barely cooked this week so no new recipes, but I did manage to get a post up on some progress my son is making with his cochlear implants. http://www.savemoneylivejoyfully.com/2013/10/what-weve-been-up-to.html

it must be beyond amazing to watch your son start to hear and interact with the world in a new way – I can’t even imagine. I think I would cry all the time if I were you!!!

Nice articles, thanks for the reading!

New York = Fun!! But, Boston is still my favorite city to visit. 😉

I have 2 questions for Friday:

    1) Where do you position your oven rack? In the middle or closer to the bottom? Or, do you move it around depending on what you cook? I’m having baking/timing issues lately (why??) so I thought I would ask a pro. 😉

    2) How do I subscribe to your blog? I thought I had subscribed a little while ago but instead of being notified of new posts, I get notified about new comments to a particular post. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for any help! Have a great weekend! 🙂

boston is really WONDERFUL. I grew up in new jersey and always thought new york was my city, but then I lived in boston. you might be right 😉

      1) I move it around depending on what I cook, but for all-purpose I have it like 1 level down from the middle, so it’s mostly in the middle but a little lower.

this tip from dorie greenspan might also help you out a bit – pretty cool http://doriegreenspan.com/2013/10/coconut-litmus-paper-for-your-oven.html

      2) click the little green envelope up on the top of the second column where I have twitter, facebook, etc…that should do it!

      🙂

Thanks for the replies. Both were very helpful! Glad I’m not alone in my oven confusion (and I position my rack in the same place as you). And Dorie’s blog is a fun one! And, I’m excited to subscribe – now I don’t have to feel like a stalker every time I check your blog for a new post. Haha!

I know what you mean about NYC. I’m a Broadway Junkie and couldn’t wait to visit there someday. When I finally got to, it did not disappoint and I loved it! But, a couple years later I went to Boston and just felt more “at home” there. It surprised me since I always thought NYC would feel that way for me. Guess not… Oh well, still a great place to have in our country. 🙂
