Oh yes I did! I bought a BOX of mac & cheese, cooked it, and ate it.
Probably everyone reading this is thinking, what’s the big deal? Okay, seriously, my mom never bought boxed mac & cheese growing up. Never. Honestly. And the idea of powdered, orange-colored cheese never really appealed to me that much anyway. Hence, my need for a good homemade recipe.
Tonight I asked Cate what she wanted for dinner. “Mac & Cheese.” What? How does she even know what that is? Okay, fine, Mac & Cheese it is. I didn’t have time to whip up a batch of homemade..sooooo…I looked for a box.
I didn’t go totally WT and get Kraft (no offense, my dear friends who love Kraft)…I bought organic Shells & White Cheddar. Anyway, it was GOOD. Surprisingly satisfying. I mean, I really enjoyed dinner.

I didn’t have mac ‘n cheese from a box until I was 12. And then it was at a friend’s house.
Most of my friends thought it was odd that my mom actually made dinner from scratch every night. And I thought it was such a treat to eat something from a box!haha.

mac& cheese is a staple at our house-our favorite is Annie's organic in any shells and cheese combination-there are several and my son just gobbles it up! In fact, I just discovered that we are out of it and this is worrisome.
whole foods has their own brand of mac and cheese as well that is YUMMMY– it has some herbs in it!annie’s whole wheat mac and cheese is great too!
Home made mac-n-cheese with Kraft American cheese (in a blue box usually in the cracker aisle) is the best!! Just make your pasta of choice and then melt the cheese with some milk and DELICIO!! Puts the box to shame…
Love mac and cheese! And while I really do like KD, Annie’s organic is pretty darn good too. I’ll have to give the Trader Joe’s a try.

I totally agree! I am so not into the boxed stuff. But my children have somehow developed a taste for it. We recently got the giant package of Annie’s from Costco. (I have plans for it to last a year!) 🙂 Here’s how to make it right: steam and puree carrots. Add said puree to mac and cheese. It makes it sweeter and adds nutrients.
