We are officially FANS

I was just putting these away and decided I really should share them with you.

Nate’s aunt gave us these awesome Red Sox glasses for Christmas.Β And with that gift we are now officially hahd coah (that would be “hard core” in New Englandese) Red Sox fans. I mean, Nate’s always been loyal. He has the t-shirts and hats (and broken tennis racket…don’t ask) to prove it. But I think these tumblers have taken it to the next level. The only thing beyond this is full place settings covered with red socks and blue Bs.

In honor of Jimmy Fallon’s apartment in Fever Pitch and true sports fans everywhere, it’s time for you to fess up. What team mascot is hiding in your kitchen cabinet?

  1. I’ve got a Red Sox cup and a Miami Heat cup (my sportswriter brother covered the team). And a BYU cup of course.

  2. 2

Yeah Red Sox nation! We’ve got Red Sox pint glasses. We also have a non-team specific football shaped chip bowl that plays the NFL theme song that we got at a yankee swap.

  3. 3

Our team gear is pretty much prominent in every room of the house…but the kitchen definitely has cups with White Sox, Steelers, Clippers, and Celtics logos.

  4. 4

We have a seriously embarrassing number of Cincinnati Reds cups. At one point we had a Baltimore Orioles shot glass, but our toddler broke it. Obviously, we’re baseball fans over here!

ha ha! I love all these comments…they’re awesome! can’t wait to keep reading them. will be interesting to see which sport fan comes out on top…so far I’m thinking the baseball fans are more hard core! πŸ˜‰

  6. 6
    Lauren G

Portland Trailblazer fan. Cups. Jersey. Bobble heads. Shirts. so on and so forth.

  7. We have a few SF Giants things around here…. But the winner for most ridiculous item is a Tampa Bay Bucaneers plaque that previously hung in our bedroom! Yes, you read that right a football plaque featuring some dude (mike alstott) hung on my husbands side of our bedroom for several years. He picked it out during a shopping trip where he really wanted to but something for himself. The dumb plaque is what he brought home and then proceeded to hang in our bedroom! It has since been banished to his side of the closet.

  8. My husband’s man cave is full of Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and LSU stuff. But the only kitchenware we have are the stacks of plastic souvenir cups that my husband gets at the games and insists on keeping. AND they are displayed in his man cave also. He’s so weird….

CELTICS! Same as your sox cups. From the same relative! (I am Jane’s Sister-In-Law) They are the only sports items in our cupboards too.

  10. Hmmm..I’m certain we have stuff. But I actually have to go look. Oh yeah, I completely forgot! Just before Thanksgiving, my very thoughtful sister-in-law got me a TB Bucs cup and my hubby a NE Patriots cup. Other than team logo gear that we have for Sundays/Monday Football, I felt the same way in that it put us over the hump of being a “true fan” that we can identify with more than just standard T-shirts.
However, most of my hidden cabinet is consumed with OSU Cowboy cups, glasses, shotglasses, bowls, spoons (yes, spoons) for NCAA football. We’re keep the alma mater alive and well in our house!

  11. 11

Seattle Seahawks all the way! Our pint glasses stick out like a sore thumb among all my “cute” dishes.

  12. 12

You know, Jane and Jessica- you are just setting yourselves up for MORE team paraphernalia (sp) from your favorite sister in law! Jane even practically ordered the full place setting!

  13. 13
    Krsitine N

Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins – rabbid fans in this household!

  14. 14

My husband and I graduated from rival colleges (KU and K-State). While he was a yell leader at his alma mater, I wasn’t all that into sports. We have an abundance of stuff from KU and then some from mine just to present a fair and balanced view to our children. πŸ™‚

We’re also big Kansas City Royals fans, so you’ll find that stuff, too.

  15. 15

    The Chicago Cubs!

  16. Those cups are very cute. I’m personally not a fan of the red socks but I just love their logo. I’m a big tigers fan so I would love to have cups like that if I could.

  17. 17

Philadelphia Eagles all the way in my cupboards!!!

    Jennifer V.

Oh Jane…my garage & basement are COVERED in Red Sox nonsense! πŸ™‚ For xmas, my husband even got a stuffed Red Sox fan ‘doll’ that played “We Will Rock You”…it’s complete craziness. And my little 3 year old has tons of Red Sox stuff too now…hat, sweatshirt and his very own bat & ball.

  19. 19

Brewers! I even have some old school Milwaukee Brewer plastic mugs with Paul Molitor on them from some 1980’s all fan giveaway!

  20. 20

I thought they were just some cute “Christmas” stocking glasses but now that I know they are Red Sox glasses, boo hiss boo! Lol, sorry, I’m no longer a hahd coah Yankee fan, but once a Bomber, always a Bomber. πŸ™‚

    • Jane Maynard

ha ha! I’m actually surprised my dad the yankee fan hasn’t made a comment on here yet himself! πŸ˜‰ I’ve been waiting for the yankees fans to come out of the woodwork…

  21. 21

Where do I begin? I have Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Patriots of course! A true New England sports fan! We have pint glasses, shot glasses, old fashioned glasses, plastic cups and more!

  22. 22

we’ve got both yankees cups (from yankee stadium in 2001) and sf giants cups (from several trips). my dad was born & raised in upstate NY so even though i grew up in CA i was raised a yankee fan and still am. my husband is a SF giants fan. personally, i like both teams. hey, thats okay — they are on different sides of the continent and in different leagues πŸ™‚
