Week 123 Menu

I think my favorite thing about our apartment is the jasmine hanging outside our front door. It’s in full bloom right now…every time I leave the house I see it, smell it, and smile. I can’t share the amazing smell with you, but I can share their beauty!

– Tacos

– Breakfast for dinner (I swear we haven’t been having breakfast for dinner week after week…just haven’t done it yet! Not that there’s anything WRONG with having breakfast for dinner every week, of course…sounds good to me!)

Chicken Salad Sandwiches

Hawaiian Pizza

– Spaghetti (Cate’s new favorite meal, apparently)

– Eat out

– Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill
Watermelon (hope your tricks work!)
– Sweet potato fries from Trader Joe’s freezer

I know last week was a holiday, so I’ll cut you a little slack…but it’s back to normal life, people! Post your menus! We all love seeing them! If you haven’t posted before, go for it!

    Last week we I did very little cooking and am trying to get back into the swing of it this week! We’ll see how it goes!

    Monday: Chicken and spinach lasagna, salad
    Tuesday: Date night
    Wednesday: BBQ Chicken sandwiches, homemade mac and cheese, veggie
    Thursday: Pasta veggie florentine
    Friday: Crockpot Salsa chicken, brown rice
    Saturday: Leftovers
    Sunday: Chicken sausages, roasted potatoes, grilled veggies

    This week I’m starting my night job, in addition to my day job…ugh. So we’re experimenting in things I can make in advance or for yummy leftovers so my husband is not eating fast food every night!

    Sunday: Chipotle Chicken Enchiladas
    Monday: Leftover Enchiladas – totally yummy the next night!
    Tuesday: Slow Cooker Pulled Pork sandwiches and chips
    Wednesday: Turkey Burgers
    Thursday: More pulled pork (it lasts for days)
    Friday: Sloppy Joes
    Saturday: Broccoli/Chicken Casserole

    Or, you know, eat out 5 night like we did last week.

    Here is my menu :
    Monday – Leftover Mexican Lasagna with Salad
    Tuesday – Parmesan Tilapia with Rice and Sauteed baby carrots
    Wed- Sloppy Joes with sweet potato fries and cole slaw and raw veggies
    Thurs- Leftovers
    Friday – Out of town
    Saturday – Out of town
    Sunday – Spaghetti with Italian sausage and salad with Fr Bread

    I just had to comment on the jasmine. I have a ton right near the mailboxes in my complex and I love checking the mail just to get a smell of those flowers. Northern California is winning me over!
    Also, I wanted to see if you had any ideas for hamburgers. I love hamburgers and have played with grilled pineapple – which I love – but I was wondering if you had any other good toppers or ideas to “spice up” my hamburgers?

    I’m not sure which day I’m making which of these yet, but here’s my plan.
    Ӣ Grilled chicken, green salad and rolls.
    Ӣ Baked salmon, rice and broccoli
    Ӣ Enchilada casserole (from the freezer)
    Ӣ Spaghetti with green salad
    ”¢ Tacos
    Ӣ Chili, cornbread and fruit

    Friday: Tacos (leftover meat in freezer)

    First time with the weekly menu, but I just have to say thanks for getting me motivated to be on top of things!

    Monday – Hawaiian Chicken
    Tuesday – Lasagne
    Wednesday – Filet Mignon with Twice Baked Potatoes
    Thursday – Lemon Pepper Grilled Chicken
    Friday – Calzones
    Saturday – Eat Out
    Sunday – Out of Town

  9. We have an entourage arriving from Sweden at the end of the week for my brother-in-law’s wedding, so I’m kind of playing it by ear ”¦

    M – Quinoa w/ Corn, Scallions & Mint
    T – Trader Joe’s cheese tortellini w / chicken, zucchini & pesto
    W – Leftovers
    Th – Swedish cousins’ request ”¦ perhaps some Flying Jacob?
    F – Rehearsal dinner; making Greek salad for 40 people!
    S – Wedding food
    Su – Pizza Vissana basil pesto pizza w/ mozzarella (3-pack for $11 at Costco; best frozen pizza EVER); salad

    T – frozen pizza or eat out (busy tonight)
    W – Chipotle chicken enchiladas (Becky’s recipe looks yummy!)
    R – burgers on the grill
    F – leftovers
    S – sloppy joes
    S – lasagna

    t – baked chicken w/mushrooms and yogurt, broccoli from garden (there’s some)
    w – chef’s salad with some leftover chicken
    th – black beans and rice, chard from garden (I hope)

    s – burgers on the grill and fixin’s sweet potato fries
    s – salmon on the grill, grilled peppers, grilled potatoes

    Fri – rosemary chicken w/ artichoke hearts, white beans, and kalamata olives (thanks Jane!)
    Sat – ?? go out?
    Sun – Tortellini and Pasta

    Hi. I enjoy seeing what you are planning for the week, but I would love to see what you actually ate for the week for a few weeks to get an idea of how closely you stuck to your plans and what the deviations were. Thanks

    Thur – Turky Wraps w/ strawberries on the side
    Fri – Meat Loaf w/ sweet mashed patato
    Sat – EATING OUT
    Sun- Hubby is cooking so we will see!!!!

    Also I think it would be great if more people shared recipes!!! Seriously… I will share mine if anyone wants them…but I want to see how to make some of these yummy dishes!!!!

    shantel…I wish I had some great ideas for you, but I don’t…but I WILL do a hamburger post. I’ll share how I mix up my meat and ask everyone for their ideas for toppings…post to come soon, promise!

    kristen – your comment cracked me up. my husband wanted to start “” and be the whistleblower on my menus! 🙂 I actually do a pretty decent job sticking to it, but I am going to do just what you said, keep track for the next three weeks and report back. when my plans change, it’s usually because we end up using leftovers in a new way or something like that, so it would definitely be a helpful post. anyway, in three weeks I will report and you can all give me a grade. hopefully I pass!

    Sunday- Grilled cheese and tomato soup
