Week 124 Menu…and Rhodes Yumminess

Back in the day I wrote about how much I love Rhodes rolls. Seriously awesome stuff.  They recently sent me a a box full of Rhodes goodies to say thank you for writing nice things about them.  I wasn’t planning on mentioning them again…but every single product we tried was delicious.  So, thank you Rhodes!  You’re the best!  If your grocery store carries Rhodes, you should definitely be eating it for me…I don’t have it here in the Bay Area and it makes me sad.

Hawaiian Pizza

    Sunday: Macaroni and Cheese/Left Overs

    I’ll try to put together a menu but had to make a Rhodes comment. Three of my aunts and some of my cousins work for them…do you have any of their cookbooks? My aunt (Jenna Jackson) used to do all of their advertising and well, a lot of other stuff. I wish I could get Rhodes dough here. No such luck. Have you ever made the marshmallow bombs? They are a GREAT company run by GREAT people.

    We like Rhodes Rolls–especially the cinnamon ones, as well, and LOVE the family that owns it 🙂

    Sun– Chicken Masala (inspired by your menus, Jane), rice, salad, and flatbread

    Mon–Pasta with Bolognese

    Tues–Black Beans and Rice

    Wed–Free-form sweet potato lasagne

    Thurs–Fish Tacos

    Fri–Roasted Chicken, potatoes

    Sat–something snacky since we’ll be at a birthday party all afternoon and probably not be hungry

    i just checked their website and the publix near my house has them, so i will definitely have to check out the rhodes rolls!

    Sunday: Leftovers
    Monday: Homemade Veggie Pizza (bought the dough yesterday at publix)
    Tuesday: Veggie Burger and Potato Salad
    Wed: Veggie Stir Fry w/ Brown Rice
    Thursday: Mock Chicken Caesar Salad
    Friday: Roasted Red Potatoes with Skewered Mushrooms
    Saturday: Veggie Pasta (finish up leftover veggies)

    Tues: Cuban sandwiches (with sliced pork roast leftover from Sunday)
    Wed: Baked macaroni & cheese
    Thurs: Teriyaki bowls (marinated & grilled chicken with Asian veggies & rice)
    Fri: Beef stroganoff in slow-cooker
    Sat: Tuna Melts with farmers market tomatoes
    Sun: Brisket & mashed potatoes

    Sunday: Chicken and veggies on the grill

    Sunday – jane’s creamy enchiladas (LOVE this recipe)
    Monday – gourmet hot dogs (pickles, sauerkraut, red peppers, and BBQ sauce) with fruit

    Wednesday – edammame and green bean salad over feta cheese spread on toast
    Thursday – tuna melt and tomato soup from Trader Joe’s
    Friday – eat out

  9. I love Hawaiian Pizza, but sadly hubby doesn’t so I rarely have it. When we were in Seattle we ordered some because my Father in Law also loves it. This one had ham and bacon, red onion, and fresh pineapple. So yummy!

    This week we are having:

    Monday: Lemon Rosemary Chicken Kebabs, Garlic-Olive Oil Couscous, and Grilled Grape Tomatoes

    Tuesday: BLT Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing and Grilled Steaks

    Wednesday: Leftovers

    Thursday: Lime Shrimp and Pineapple Skewers, Coconut Jasmine Rice, and Jicama Slaw

    Friday: Pizza Night, not sure what kind or if we will order or make it.

    Saturday: Leftovers

    I sure hope our weather behaves, because I have a lot of grilling planned.

    Wed: Strawberry spinach salads, grilled chicken for hubs salad:)
    Thursday-Grilled Veggie packets with watermelon

  11. I made three chicken dishes last week, and learned a new trick for my son. He now says “I’m going to like this” to himself before trying something, increasing his palate 50%. It’s really cute to see him retry something and then say – I like it! It did not work with carrot juice or nopales today, though.

    I cooked chicken breasts that had been cut up and dredged in cornstarch just in a gyoza dipping sauce from Trader joes, they loved it. Served with leftover rice from the lamb curry the night before.

    I baked chicken legs for the kids – mixing oil, ketchup, soy sauce and honey and spreading it over the legs. Then for us took chicken tenders marinated in white wine, garlic, mustard, oil, lemon pepper …think that’s it and baked with artichoke hearts. That came out so good. Would be even better served over pasta.

    I never even heard of Rhodes – now I’ll be on the hunt.

    Finally after moving and several weeks of settling (and me returning to work from maternity leave), we have a plan! We may not stick to it but at least there is one. Hooray!

    Monday: just me and the kids, so english muffin pizzas
    Tuesday: Grilled fish (probably salmon, depending on what’s fresh) with lemon pepper, chives & dill, green beans, rice
    Wednesday: Chicken paprika, noodles, steamed spinach
    Thursday: Marinated london broil on the grill, baked potatoes, salad
    Friday: Any leftovers, Hot dogs & oven fries
    Saturday: at a birthday party
    Sunday: Grilled pork chops, not sure about sides yet!

    Monday: Halibut with Nectarine salsa, Broccoli and wilted spinach with carmalized balsamic onions.
    Tuesday: Chicken with Pineapple salsa, melted cheddar jack cheese.
    Wednesday:Steak with pepper cream sauce, baked potatoes, zuchinni with parmesan cheese shavings and sourdough baguette.

    Thats all I know for now!

    I’m glad I found this site (via the Hostess with the Mostess blog). A little late, but here is our menu for the week.

    MO: Mexican chicken casserole
    TU: quesadillas with chicken, sweet potato and butternut squash; brown rice with onions; citrus green beans
    WE: lemon ginger crockpot chicken; tabouli; leftover mac and cheese
    TH: pasta primavera
    FR: strawberry social at church
    SA: dinner salad with chicken and strawberries

    tuesday: potato cheddar bacon soup, orange rolls
    wednesday: hawaiian english muffin pizzas

    Ok first of all – I’m with you on the Rhodes Rolls. So far I haven’t had any Rhodes product that wasn’t completely delicious and excellent quality. I’m limited by what the local market has in stock. But if you can get any of their products your in luck! Thanks again Rhodes Rolls!
