Week 131 Menu

I’m on the Cape. And there’s no where I’d rather be. And I’m not planning a menu.

I’m on vacation.  I never take vacation, from graphic design or keeping up with this blog. Which isn’t a bad thing, but I’m just going to take it easy this week.  I may share some of our delicious Cape Cod eats with you, but I’m not planning on anything and just letting the ocean breeze carry me.

If you’re NOT on vacation, then please share your menu for the week! I’ll need some ideas when I get back in the groove next week! So please please plan and share a menu!


  1. Monday:
    -Black Eyed Pea Tacos
    -Cilantro-lime Rice

    -Baked Shells

    -Cayenne-rubbed Tilapia with Avocado Salsa
    -Spicy Black Beans

    -Rosemary Meatballs
    -Parmesan Potatoes

    -Pizza night?

    Mon- Ham, cheese, green pepper omelettes
    Tues- BBQ hot dogs- spinach salad
    Wed- Waffles
    Thurs- Work Late- probably cereal 🙁
    Fri- Hamburgers, oven fries
    Sat- Leftovers or out
    Sun- meatloaf and baked potatoes

    Hi! new to your blog. I love it!

    Here’s my menu for the week:

    Monday: Homemade pizza with fresh tomatoes
    Tuesday: Dijon chicken with rice and veggies (probably zucchini)
    Wednesday: French Omelets and something on the side
    Thursday: leftovers
    Friday: Chicken cacciatore w/ pasta
    Saturday: Fried Rice
    Sunday: making a big batch of wontons to freeze, so we’ll have wonton soup and a salad

    Sun: Meatballs and pasta, salad
    Mon: Roasted chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes
    Tues: Chicken enchiladas
    Wed: Shrimp scampi, pasta, salad
    Thurs: Grilled pork tenderloin, corn on the cob
    Fri: BBQ pork sandwiches, chips
    Sat: Out to eat!

    We eat leftovers for lunch pretty much everyday!

    I seem to make chicken, chicken and more chicken! Always looking for new and innovative recipes for it.

  6. You are sooooo lucky ~ enjoy your vacation! This is what’s on the menu at the Swisher house this week:

    Monday: Breakfast for dinner! Whole wheat pancakes, fruit salad (yes, that’s your recipe for whole wheat pancakes. I have passed on the recipe and/or made them for several friends.)

    Tuesday: Crispy Dijon Chicken, Corn Pudding and salad.

    Wednesday: Black Bean Burgers, corn on the cob and salad.

    Thursday: Chicken cacciatore (sp?) served over egg noodles, salad.

    Friday: Out to eat!

    Saturday: BBQ with family!

  7. Just found your site and was thrilled to have dinner planned for the next week, all done by you and not me. Not me. Because that’s the worst part of dinner for me, thinking of something so creative, so delicious, so delectable that all 3 of my boys will say “Yum” and not “That smells disgusting.”

    And I come here to find out that you are on vacation. I guess we can wait a week to eat…

    Kidding, of course. We have canned tuna and key lime pie. and tomatoes. Have a great vacation in that cool locale and we’ll check back next week.

    Wednesday: Arugula, Potato, and Green-Bean Salad with Creamy Walnut Dressing and or Caramelized Onion Quiche
    Thursday: Leftovers
    Friday: Pizza (we are leaving Sat. morning on 1 last vacation)

    S: Pulled Pork Sandwiches with carmelized onions & Corn on the cob.
    M: Grilled Hawaiin Pork Tenderloin, summer squash & cucumbers
    T: To a friends house for dinner – making some kind of berry pie.
    W: Hamburgers & potato salad
    TR:Steak, mushroom & blue cheese salad, garlic naan
    F: Chicken & Spinach enchiladas with green salad
    S: Chicken Mango salad in pita pockets and watermelon

    Have a great vacation. I’ll be hoping for no rain for you.

    Hmmm, well, I absolutely love your blog…I’m new here.
    Mon:: Ginger beef stir fry with rice and veggies
    Tues:: Moroccan Tagine with couscous
    Wed:: Chicken,avacado lettuce and bacon wraps
    Thurs::Ham and Cheese grilled sandwiches with a side salad.
    Frid:: first night at the cottage with 9 other families…I have to think of a dinner for my night of cooking…and was coming to you for ideas…

    I’m a newbie! Here’s my menu:

    Mon: Pasta and Easy Italian Meat Sauce
    Garlic bread
    Tues: Barbecued Chicken
    Wed: Salmon with Hoisin Glaze
    Simple salad
    Thurs: Korean Beef Bulgogi
    Fri: Herb-Marinated Pork Loin
    Grilled fruit

    Tues: Still traveling – frozen pizza for them with salad

    Thurs: hot sausage sandwiches w/ peppers & onions
    Fri: marinated steak on grill, cheddar mashed potatoes, corn on the cob if we can get some
    Sat: pizza with friends

    saturday – cookout at my daughter’s house!

  23. I may not be on vacation, but mentally my brain is still off having fun in Chicago! It was so great to meet you at dinner on Friday. Have a wonderful time at the Cape!

  24. Love your blog! Hope the Cape is treating you well and you are finding great places to eat!!!! I trust you will take plenty of mouth waterign photos of what you find there…
    The menu ’round our table this week is
    Sunday- BLT’s by the pool
    Monday- Chicken Quesadillas, Black Beans, Yellow Rice & Corn Muffins
    Tuesday- Roast & Garlic Smashed Red Potatoes already made and in the freezer
    Wednesday – Chicken Nuggets, Mac & Chs. and Fresh Peaches
    Thursday- Leftovers
    Family Night Friday – (Pizza, Chips & Dip and Root Beer with Snickerdoodles for dessert)
    My husband travels full time, meal planning is essential to my survivial. I have done it for years and love it! I have three boys and while they don’t eat everything I make they they try it and often times help preapre it with me. Food is a wonderful thing!

    Wednesday: stir-fry using leftover steak & brown rice

    Tue: Pulled Pork BBQ loaded baked potatoes
    Wed: Pasta Carbonara
    Thu: Breakfast for dinner, homefries (made with extra pototoes baked tue.) w/bacon (1/2 pound of bacon pieces set aside Wed.) & onions + eggs
    Fri: taco night (family says “yeah”)
    Sat: Pizza Night (homemade tomato basil & onion for mom, sausage and pepper for dad & cheese for kiddos.)
    Sun: Chicken w/ summer veg. one-pot meal (it’s amazing what you can do with a LeCrusset and a farmers market! I love this time of year!!)

    Monday: Marinated bacon wrapped scallops, green salad and cheesy garlic toast
    Tuesday: BBQ chicken, pan fried potatoes & onions and zucchini(although I’m not sure how it’ll be cooked yet)
    Wednesday: *free night (meaning I’m home alone)* Ham or roast beef sandwich, leftover zucchini bisque, a peach
    Thursday: *free night (home alone again)* Breakfast for dinner (scrambled eggs with ham, onion & cheese and toast)
    Friday: No plan as I bartend at my part-time job on Friday nights; Buppy will have to fend for himself and the kids
    Saturday: Working day shift at the bar, out of town at a friend’s house for a wine tasting that night
    Sunday Lunch: Grilled ham & cheese (just grilled cheese for the kids), canned fruit
    Sunday Dinner: Homemade pierogi (I’ve had a recipe I’ve been dying to try!)
