Week 142 Menu

I LOVE FALL. I know you all know that by now, but seriously, it’s the best season, hands down. We went to Arata’s Pumpkin Farm on Friday and had a blast. We did the giant hay bale maze, which was loads of fun for kids and the parents alike. Sad to say that Michelle (my friend) and I could not figure it out. We gave up and went in through the exit and, believe it or not, it was STILL hard. But seriously, that maze was HUGE, so can you blame us?

I love our little collection of little pumpkins and gourds. Aren’t those stems wonderful?

Okay, my menu has several duplicates from last week’s plan. Nate was gone most of the week, so the girls and I were able to last on leftovers longer. Oh, and we ate out a few times. When Dad’s gone, it’s party time! Now it’s back to being responsible. Phooey.

– Pork chops”¦and this time I’m going to NOT massacre them like last time, so disappointing when you screw up!

Alrighty, folks…bring on the menus! Big and tall, or really small…we love ’em all! (I should be a poet, no?)

I couldn’t decide which pumpkin picture to use, so I’m posting both. Hope you don’t mind me indulging my obsession with fall.

  1. Look at those colors! We went to a pumpkin farm yesterday, and there was actually snow on the ground. I took my gloves off to take pictures, and my fingers almost froze!

    Tuesday – grilled veggie and chicken paninis with salad

    Wednesday – Sausage pepper and onion calzone with salad

    Thursday – Salmon burgers, roasted potatoes, salad

    Friday – Sunday – ?

  7. Here is a super EASY recipe for cheesy broccoli soup:

    Saute 1 chopped onion and 2 crushed garlic cloves in 1 T butter in a large skillet until tender. Meanwhile combine 2 (16 oz.) packages frozen broccoli with cheese sauce and 3 cups chicken broth in stock pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Whisk together 2 1/2 cups milk and 1/3 cup flour in skillet with onion and garlic until combined. Slowly add to broccoli. Cook 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Place half of soup in blender and puree. Return to stock pot. Heat and serve.

    Big fan of fall too – spent the morning planting plants and bulbs with my wife… including our first blueberry plant.

    Mo – pork loin, acorn squash, bisquits
    Tu – Veggie lasagna (pumpkin, spinach, tofu – very fall)
    We – Leftovers I think
    Th – Pepper Parmesan chicken and pasta w/ some veggie
    Fr – Corn chowder from the Dinasaur BBQ cookbook

    totally loving the fall, I did a corn chowder this week and got soup bowls shaped like and colored like pumpkins from a local bakery! Super fun.

    This is my 4th week planning and posting my menu. For some readon, I found it hard to pull my thoughts and plans together to get this done tonight. I would’ve just left it, but I have a busy week ahead and I knew I’d regret it. Yeah me!

    S: Cheese Quesadillas, refried beans & rice, sliced tomatoes
    M: (ikea!) Swedish meatballs, cauliflower “faux-tatoes”, gravy, broccoli
    T: Italian meatloaf, zucchini, garlic bread
    W: Chunky Two Bean Chili, Lemon-Thyme Cornbread
    Th: Out?
    F: Chili-lime mariated flank steak, wild rice, roasted brussel sprouts
    S: Creamy mac n cheese, autumn salad

    Fried Rice (just in case we want to switch up meals)

    You have inspired me to start putting a “menu list” up on our fridge each Sunday afternoon so we all can see in full view what the plans are! It does make life much easier during the week. Love the pumpkin pics by the way. πŸ™‚

    I see SupperStarter has Red Wine Rosemary lamb chops on the menu, want to find out more about that – my 4-yr-old just caught on to lamb chops and I’m looking for ways to cook them!

    Tuesday-leftovers from weekend, made lots of pasta
    Wednesday-Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans

  20. Pumpkin pancakes sound great. I’ll have to work on those in a gluten free way. It was great to meet you at BlogHer Food. I’m really enjoying checking out your blog. Thought I would also share my menu since you asked. It’s gluten free and dairy free and I share the recipes too. It’s great you get people to actually share what their menu is. It really does save time and money. I think I’ll start asking too when I share mine each week. You’re so smart!
