Week 287 Menu

Good morning! We have safely arrived at Cape Cod.

This is our view off the back porch.

And this is our view from the kitchen window.

And those views are the reason I have no meal plan for the week. Yay for vacation!

I am sure many of you are still on the ball and getting your menus planned, though, so I wanted to make sure there was a place where you can post! Can’t wait to see your menus!


  1. Busy week! It’s our anniversary and our daughter’s birthday. I’m letting my daughter choose most of the meals for the week.

    Sunday-Out to dinner for anniversary
    Monday-Grilled Steaks, Corn, Salad
    Tuesday-Minestrone Soup w French Bread (daughter’s favorite meal)
    Wednesday-Daughter’s birthday…out with the grandparents
    Thursday-Hawaiian Chicken, White Rice, Green Beans from the garden
    Friday-BBQ Chicken Pizza, Salad

    I’ve always wanted to go to the Cape. Some day…busy week for us too with my mom’s 84th birthday as well as friends visiting but we did get our menu planned and grocery shopping complete.

    Saturday: tri tip and salad with an awesome maple dressing
    Sunday: meatballs and cesaer salad
    Monday: shrimp, carne asada, pinto beans
    Tuesday: dinner out – Italian
    Wednesday: dinner out – Pizza port
    Thursday: Tilapia (veracruz) with salad
    Friday: baby back ribs, coleslaw, baked beans

    WOW – a lot of meat on the menu this week, didn’t realize that. We’ll have to go leaner next week.

    Tuesday: Chicken Picatta Pasta Toss and Broccoli
    Wednesday: Out To Eat

    Friday: Clam Chowder and White Cheddar Muffins and Cauliflower
    Saturday: Breakfast for Dinner-Key Lime Cream Cheese Donuts and Eggs
    Sunday: Rosemary Balsamic Roasted Pork Tenderloin, Perfect Potatoes Au Gratin and Corn and Rosemary Rolls

    Ah, I’m so jealous of those views !! (in a good way). I spent two summers living on Cape Cod and love it there. Definitely holds a place in my heart.

    Sunday – Grill chicken, asparagus, bake sweet potatoes, watermelon.
    Monday – Grill hot dogs, chips, fruit/salad.
    Tuesday – Pizza and salad ?? Not sure.
    Wednesday – Grill steaks, corn on the cob, leftover salad or fruit.
    Thursday and Friday kids and I fend for ourselves while husband works super late. Probably frozen Trader Joe’s meals.
    Saturday – out or pizza
    Sunday – Lasagna or grill

    Sunday: Low country boil with local shrimp, corn & potatoes!
    Monday: Roasted Butternut soup and homemade sourdough bread (with new sourdough starter!!)
    Tuesday: Caribbean Jerk chicken in slow cooker
    Wednesday: Veggie/parmesan frittata with roasted cauliflower
    Thursday: Stuffed peppers (stuffed with quinoa, zucchini and cauliflower) in slow cooker
    Friday: Leftovers?
    Saturday: Out

    The pictures are beautiful. Have a wonderful vacation and can’t wait to read all about it. Alot of good stuff from the garden on the menu this week.

    Sunday – Stuffed peppers(from the garden), noodles in sauce
    Monday – Hamburgers, haluski and coleslaw (cabbage, carrots and onions from the garden)
    Tuesday – Spaghetti (tomatoes from the garden) with meatballs, salad, garlic toast
    Wednesday – Cabbage rolls (cabbage from the garden), mashed potatoes
    Thursday – Chicken nuggets, corn on the cob (from the garden), coleslaw
    Friday – Sausage gravy and biscuits
    Saturday – Leftovers

    Tuesday: Smashburger
    Wednesday: Japanese steakhouse with the two kids who love that

    Friday: Cheeseburgers
    Saturday: Not sure!

    Have a great vacation. We leave next Saturday for our Cape Cod escape- I can’t wait!

    Sunday- omelettes
    Monday – grilled pizza and salad
    Tuesday-grilled chicken tacos with homemade salsa and tomato corn salad
    Wednesday- grilled steak with coffee rub and tomatoes provencal
    Thursday- Out to dinner with friends
    Friday- take out
    Saturday- on vacation, so who knows?

    I also want to make corn muffins and a grilled zucchini dish with a cinnamon, brown sugar and balsamic glaze.

    Mon- lefover deep dish pizza and a green salad
    Tues – homemade chicken pot pie
    Weds – My boss coming to dinner! Nice NY strip steaks, roasted baby potatoes and asparagus
    Thurs – leftovers, I am heading out of town for work
    Fri- something from Trader Joe’s!

    Dinner: Pizza night, salad

    Saturday: Lunch: TBD
    Dinner: Something in the crockpot as I am at my 20 year reunion!

  23. After a week in Rehoboth Beach, Del., we are on a weeklong TBD. There’s chicken, pork tenderloins and hot dogs in the freezer. I’m sure we’ll make do, but no specific plans.

    It’s kinda nice.

    Made my FIRST trip to Trader Joe’s this weekend! It was crowded, and you had to fight for parking spots – but it was well worth it. I’m going to have to make a monthly trip!

    Sun – TJ orange chicken & fried rice
    Mon – BBQ ribs w/ Olathe sweet corn!, baked potato, and salad
    Tue – Italian Hoagies w/ italian pasta salad
    Wed – leftovers
    Thu – Lemon & garlic pork skewers w/ greek feta pilaf
    Fri – Chicken Parm (from last week)
    Sat – leftovers

    Beautiful! I love the East Coast but we’re leaving for the West Coast this week so a short menu-planning week (and it involves using all the stuff I have left in the fridge and pantry ā€ā€ it will be creative!).
    Sunday: Garlic shrimp pasta with roasted asparagus.
    Monday: Shrimp and tofu curry over rice with nann, grilled baby zucchini and pears.
    Tuesday: Either meatball subs or sausage on the grill (I have both in the freezer) with salads and cantaloupe.
    Wednesday: Couscous with grilled veggies (will finish them all up) and yogurt sauce, with whatever fruit we have left to use.
    Thursday: Stepson’s 17th birthday so we’re going out to dinner ā€ā€ probably the gourmet burger place.
    Friday: Eating dinner in Big Sur, California at the Big Sur River Inn.

    Here’s our menu – we have a CSA pickup every Wednesday, so my weekly planning always runs from Wednesday to Tuesday, as we get our fresh veggies and I have to plan around them!

    Wednesday: leftovers (pesto noodles and leftover Indian food from my night out with friends)

    Thursday: Salisbury steaks, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, gravy

    Friday: Kernels (one cob), fennel, string bean and cucumber salad with Asian spices; Asian spring rolls w/hot mustard

    Saturday: Cumin beef with eggplant, fennel, tomato, and shallots on wilted chard with couscous

    Sunday: Broccoli and corn cream of chicken soup ā€Ėœnā€™ biscuits; blackberry cobbler with oatmeal

    Monday: Chili with corn on the cob, taquitos, and spicy string beans

    Tuesday: lemon pepper grilled something (fish or chicken…) with chard
