Hello everyone! I am buried in boxes and just now realized it’s Sunday and I need to get a menu planned! I can guarantee that I will not be doing any cooking tonight, but our girls did open a restaurant for us. Cate made some snacks and Anna threw together a salad. We are lucky parents (Sadly, this is actually all I’ve eaten today. In case you’re wondering, it’s LIFE cereal, Cheerios and freeze-dried blueberries arranged very lovingly and carefully.)
Okay, I have no idea how this week is going to go, but I’ll put some semblance of a plan together anyway.
MONDAY:
– Takeout (even though we’re totally sick of it!)
TUESDAY:
– Belgian waffles (I found our Belgian waffle maker in the move, so I can finally try a recipe I’ve been hanging on to)
WEDNESDAY:
– Turkey Boursin Baguettes
THURSDAY:
– Happy Fourth of July! We will do a BBQ on our new back patio!
FRIDAY:
– Leftover BBQ food
SATURDAY:
– Takeout
SUNDAY:
– I think I’ll do a nice traditional Sunday night dinner, roast chicken or pot roast or something.
I know, super unclear menu plan, but it’s about all my brain can handle right now! At least it’s done, right? Just like last week, PLEASE post your menus to inspire one another! I obviously need help!

I’m curious as to where in SD you are. Two restaurants you need to try: 1) Slater’s 50/50 in Liberty Station. The 50/50 is because the burgers are half ground beef, half bacon. The ketchup is made with bacon. The mayo is made with bacon. The dessert? Yeah, you know it. 2) Hash House A Go-Go on Fifth Street. Think rock n roll diner. There’s also a really good Mexican place on Fifth called Huapango’s.
S: Hot dogs. We were driving all day and they were lovely.
M: Skipping Meatless Monday and doing bacon cheddar sliders
T: Grilled adobo chicken with grilled peach salsa
W: Sirloin with chimmichurri sauce
R: No clue. I’m hoping The Wife and The Kid go to a cookout and I can hide in the air conditioning for some quiet.
F: Rehearsal dinner at a local steakhouse.
S: Wedding reception. I hate weddings, particularly one’s that take place at an out of the way location. This requires me to stay semi-sober because The Wife won’t know how to get home.
Hash House is my fave brunch place!!! I go every year for my bday. 🙂

Uggghhhh…. I’m so in a rut! I still am riding a knee scooter with a Cam walking boot for a broken foot. I just feel all out of sorts. I can’t clean my house as good, can’t carry my babies( though they love riding the scooter), dinner is a chore now instead of my fun time. I am completely and utterly uninspired! Boo hoo… So here’s what I have had and got so far. Oh, we also have 4 of 5 kiddos with the “summer funk”.
Sun- Steak and Shrimp fajitas, chips and salsa and pico.
Mon- Matzo ball soup, some ate chicken nuggets and some stole my own stash of no-meat burgers, RATS, dirty RATS!
