Week 369 Menu

Wow, it’s Sunday already! Yesterday our family was completely lazy. I don’t think we’ve ever had a day like it! The kids thought it was pretty hilarious and it was actually kind of fun. But now it’s back to real life, starting with this week’s menu plan!

The ingredients list for this week’s menu was a lot shorter than past weeks’. Lots of basic ingredients and repeats from meal to meal, which is interesting because the meals are all so different. I love shorter grocery lists!

    Monday: Smothered Grilled Chicken and Greek Couscous Salad
    Tuesday: PW’s Bacon Wrapped Filet and Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans
    Wednesday: Seared Shrimp and Cheese Quesadillas
    Thursday: PW’s Chipotle Chicken Chili
    Friday: Baked Tilapia Parmesan and Salad
    Saturday: Take Out Pizza
    Sunday: Breakfast for Dinner–Pancakes and Fresh Fruit and Scrambled Eggs

    Sat — fettucini Alfredo with shrimp and peas
    Sun — out
    Mon — spaghetti squash Mac & cheese, salad
    Tues — baked fish, risotto, broccoli
    Wed — beef stew in the crock, fresh bread
    Thurs — roasted pork loin, roasted carrots & beets with rosemary
    Fri — homemade pizza

    Lazy days are the best and much needed every now and then!

    Sunday pasta and meatballs
    Monday porkchop a and creamy leeks
    Tues meatball (leftovers) pizza
    Wed fettuccine with mushrooms
    Thur hole in egg
    Friday sandwich night probably grille cheese

    Lazy days are lovely ”” and they take on a whole different vibe when the kids get older 🙂
    Sunday: That chicken ( and salads.
    Monday: Buffalo chicken egg rolls ( and roasted broccoli.
    Tuesday: Turkey chili.
    Wednesday: Dinner out or takeout in ”” hopefully celebrating son’s driver’s license!
    Thursday: Leftover chili.
    Friday: One pot tortellini and sausage ( Veggies tbd.

    I’m hoping to shed some pounds before summer so I tried to plan a lighter menu this week. Hopefully it will work

    Sun: Cajun style Red Beans and Rice with Smoked Turkey Sausage and green salad
    Mon: Pumpkin Pancakes and Cantaloupe
    Tues: Chicken Bean Tacos
    Wed: Lentil Stew and Bread
    Thurs: Maple Dijon Salmon with Roasted Potatoes and Salad
    Fri: Chicken Teriyaki Salad
    Sat: Squash Soup and Bread

    When my kids were younger, we used to have a pajama day every once in awhile, where we were too lazy to even get dressed!

    Mon – Beef & Bean Burritos, Guacamole & Chips
    Tues – Pot Roast, potatoes & carrots, Salad
    Wed – Breaded Chicken Tenders, Curly Fries, Broccoli
    Thurs – Grilled Cheese sandwiches & Tomato Soup
    Fri – Steak, Baked Potato, Salad
    Sat – Going out of town until Tuesday!
    Sun – Out of town to visit my daughter in college

    Mon: “Restaurant Night” No, we’re not going out. This is what I put on the menu to trick the kids into eating leftovers. They get to pick what they eat for dinner, and I clear out some room in my fridge. It’s a win-win!
    Tues: Firecracker Chicken with Quinoa.
    Wed: Baked Eggs in Pasta Nests. Jane, I think I found this recipe from something you pinned. If you make it, check out my comment on the post first.
    Thurs: Sloppy Joes.
    Fri: Lasagna & garlic bread.
    Sat: Poppy Seed Chicken with Quinoa.
    Sun: Bi Bim Bop on brown rice.

    Sun: turkey burgers, roasted asparagus & carrots
    Mon: dinner at my parents house
    Tues: chicken enchilada stuffed zucchini, corn salad
    Wed: tortellini in pink sauce, roasted broccoli
    Thurs: chicken tortellini soup, grilled cheese, salad
    Fri: dinner at a friends house
    Sat: parmasean pork chops, sweet potato fries, applesauce

    We’re having our lazy day today…even the dog has been super lazy! I love days like this! 🙂

    W: Spaghetti & sausages, roasted pepper salad, french bread
    T: Oven roasted pork tenderloin with gravy, mashed potatoes & green beans
    F: Naan pizzas on the grill. Leftover sausage & hamburger for guys &, fontina, mushroom, thyme & truffle for me.
    S: Friends arriving from out of town, so probably out.

    Tuesday – Baked ham, potato salad, baked beans
    Wednesday – Something with leftover ham

    Saturday – Soup and high school band sub

    Sunday. Leftovers from valentine’s day. Rack of lamb, potatoes augratin and salad
    Monday. One more day of lamb leftovers.! This time making a pizza with lamb!
    Tuesday. I have a meeting so fend
    Wednesday. Spaghetti with sausage and salad
    Thursday – Sunday going away for the weekend.

    Friday – Saturday: Hotel living after they pack up the house!

    Tomorrow is my lazy day… no school! I need a lazy day too – we’ve had company for the last 3 weeks. Seriously busy! I love visitors but I need a break. 😉

  20. There are several new recipes on my plan this week, the results of being almost done eating the meat from our freezer. This challenge has been good (new recipes) for the most part. It has made me realize just how unplanned my past shopping trips have been, how I have been going into them without a good plan. After a couple months of different things causing havoc to our schedule, I’m ready to get back to it and this was the first step.

    2. Chipotle-Chocolate Chili, Grandma’s Buttermilk Cornbread Muffins
    3. Salad
    4. *Cajun Pulled Pork, rice, side salad
    5. *Chipotle Pork
    6. *Pork Chops with Caribbean Rub and Mango Salsa

    1. Tomato soup, garlic bread
    2. Breakfast – grits, onion and pepper omelette, juice
    3. Superfast Salisbury Steak
    4. Roast in gravy (from freezer)
    5. Falafel

    • I’m impressed with your little experiment – that freezer really held it’s own for several weeks there! hopefully your havoc will let up a bit for you!

  21. My 5-year old is a salmon aficionado, and leans toward herb roasted salmon. I prefer teriyaki or maple-soy, but you can’t really go wrong 🙂

    my GF menu for the week
    Sun – Beef Veggie Soup
    Mon – Chicken Parm Meatballs w Portabellos
    Tue – GF Baked General Tso Chicken
    Wed – Burrito Bowls w Quinoa instead of Rice
    Thu – Cauliflower / Potato Chowder in Crockpot
    Fri – Paleosanga (basically a lasagna w zuchinni rounds instead of noodles ? but still has cheese ?)
    Sat – not sure yet maybe out

      It was interesting. basically you used zuchinni rounds instead of noodles. and instead of ricotta mixture you use greek yogurt and shredded cheese and BROCCOLI believe it or not. the biggest thing i would change is that it basically just had you pour diced tomatoes on it instead of spaghetti sauce…i would have prefered to use spaghetti sauce to get more of the basil, spices taste. i would make it again though !       i didnt have shredded goat cheese so i used provolone :). i also almost doubled the amount of veggies so i would get a lot of leftovers. in general i liked it. it was a tiny bit watery though but like i said…i would make it again with some tweeks.

    I’ve been reading and getting inspiration for a long time. I need to start posting.

    Mon – kalbi chicken thighs, scallion rice, cucumber salad
    Tue – beef brisket, Asian quinoa salad, tropical fruit salad
    Wed – fish tacos, black beans & rice
    Thu – roasted vegetables w/poached eggs
    Fri – pizza

    Mon: halibut with chard and lemon thyme butter, soft polenta
    Tues: chicken enchiladas suizas
    Wed: leftover beef
    Thurs: leftover enchiladas
    Fri: braised kale with kielbasa over pasta

  26. I’m on vacation this week so it’ll like go like this:
    Monday: takeout
    Tuesday: takeout
    Wednesday: takeout
    Okay, you get the picture. Ha. I love that you do this. I need to plan more.
