Week 148 Menu

Today I’m venturing into the world of Indian cooking for the first time. I started gathering all the spices I will need for the two dishes I’m preparing. This isn’t even all of them! I have a feeling it will be a very flavorful and fragrant dinner.

Can’t wait to hear about your Indian food adventure … I am a big fan of eating it but never tried cooking it!

Monday-leftover tilapia from yesterday, basmati rice & steamed spinach
    Tuesday-stuffed shells w/sauce, salad

  10. 10

Can’t wait to see what you are making with all those spices.
Sun-out with family (went to a Vietnamese place, loved it. Have any yummy Vietnamese recipes?)
    Mon-mongolian beef
    Sat-hopefully leftovers

  11. 11

Mmmm, Indian food! We love the exotic flavors, and started cooking a lot of our own Indian dishes at home. We adapted a green fish curry by substituting tofu for the fish. The green fish curry was good, but somehow it just tastes sooo much better with tofu. I still have yet to make Sag Pannier at home – I need to find the cheese or stop being a baby and just venture out and be versatile.

Since our menu’s are always retrospective, here’s what last week looked like:
    Sunday: Lemony shrimp pasta
    Monday: Leftovers
    Tuesday: Country pork ribs
    Wednesday: Leftovers
    Thursday: Chicken tacos
Friday: Homemade pizza and buffalo wings
    Saturday: Spaghetti & meatballs
Sunday: Boxed Mac&Cheese (I felt like dirt last night, and hubby’s rewiring the entire house)

  12. We LOVE Indian food in our house. Chicken Tikka Masala is a staple around here. Yummy. Hope you guys enjoy yours.

Monday: Tilapia with shallots and lemon butter, Mashed Potatoes and Spinach Salad
Tuesday: Chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, roasted potatoes and corn on the cob
Wednesday: Mac and Cheese and Apples
Thursday: Thanksgiving, I’m in charge of desserts
    Friday: Left Overs
    Saturday: Pizza
    Sunday: Left Overs

  13. Monday: Fettuccine with spicy sausage, yellow peppers and marinara with ciabatta bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar
Tuesday: Salsa soup (like tortilla soup, but a simpler version using salsa), guacamole and chips
Wednesday: Pizza (we eat this once a week, normally on Thursdays, the night I work, only that’s Thanksgiving this week)
Thursday: Thanksgiving feast (mainly prepared by my husband, brother-in-law, and father-in-law)
Friday: Mongolian BBQ – or eating out somewhere else.
Saturday: Pizza for all (no, 2 times in one week is not too much!)
