Week 280 Menu

How is it the end of the school year already? And how can it be JUNE two thousand TWELVE? Someone tell Father Time to slow things down. I can’t keep up.

All of our end-of-the-school-year activities kept us super busy last week, so we didn’t make our soups like we had planned, so they’re back on the menu. By the way, I was so happy to read all of your comments last week and learn that I am not the only one having issues with the Tooth Fairy’s reliability. I think we’ve proven that she’s overworked and maybe needs to outsource some of her responsibilities. Perhaps she could rely on the parents for some help? πŸ˜‰ (By the way, I loved all your comments…so funny!)

    I am looking forward to school ending as much as the kids are! I’m so sick of nagging over school stuff ”” I need a break too! We’ve got an 8th grade graduation this week (along with the last day of school) and then the kids are going to grandparents for a few days πŸ™‚
    Sunday: Trying your Bistro Chicken Jane for the first time, along with brussel sprouts and twice baked cauliflower.
    Monday: Curry tofu and chickpeas with roasted broccoli and naan.
    Tuesday: Pizza (kids’ request since it’s the last day of school!!)
    Wednesday: Kids gone, husband traveling ”” I’ll be going out with friends or eating takeout πŸ™‚
    Thursday: Husband gets home early from his trip so I’m making Asian noodle salad and shrimp dumplings.
    Friday: Graduation party at a park so I suspect hot dogs and hamburgers.
    Saturday: Some kind of fish ”” whatever looks good at the store!

    Enjoy the last days of school and the start of summer!

    We plan our menus Saturday thru Friday

    Sat: dinner at friends house – yay…no cooking.

    Sun: still deciding…actually discussing as I type

    Mon: grilled chicken teriyaki (thighs) with fresh green beans

    Tues: hubby is making this new “crab” dish he found online

    Wed: homemade chicken nuggets (breasts) with fresh steamed carrots

    Thurs: grilled steak, cheesy pinto beans, tortillas

    Fri: take out

  3. We have year-round daycare. And, I’ve been in a pregnant/maternal fog for the past year. So, I can’t keep track of seasons to save my life! I’m always shocked when another one comes and goes! πŸ™‚

    Sunday: Birthday dinner for Grandpa – steaks and corn on the grill, sweet potato fries, homemade birthday cake
    Monday – Tuesday: Grandpa and Grandma still here….plans are still up in the air!
    Wednesday: Dinner at church
    Thursday: Stuffed shells and roasted carrot and zucchini sticks
    Friday: Shredded chicken tacos with blackened corn kernels/potato
    Saturday: Out for dinner.

    Saturday: Husband away. I’ll eat breakfast for dinner.

    Wednesday: Pasta (this recipe is amazing)

    Saturday: marinated chicken drumsticks with corn tortillas

    Hmm, I seem to be using my Allrecipes recipes this week…Easy stuff at my house this week at my house and we gear up or the in-law’s visit and my son’s high school graduation…how did that happen???

    Sunday: homemade calzones, salad
    Monday:Chili with toppings, chard from the garden and cornbread
    Tuesday: This yummalicious sandwich….with fruit salad
    Wednesday: Fish tacos , rice, black bean salad
    Thursday: Chimichangas, gallo pinto (Costa Rican rice dish, delicious) beets becaust that is what is in the garden!
    Friday: Catered food for Mikey’s graduation dinner, ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes, beans and homemade boysendberry pie, because they are in the garden too.
    Saturday: One of my fave paninis
    leftover beets made into a salad.

    Thursday: Thai Cilantro grilled chicken, leftover rice or baked rice, southwestern salad.

    Friday: if we host some friends, we’ll grill out… hot dogs, the works. if not, we’ll go out!

    Saturday lunch: chicken sausage, onion, bell pepper kabobs or something easy.
    Saturday dinner: friends and family dinner, so it’ll be a surprise! I’m bringing a Hummingbird Cake.

    Sun: BBQ at the Lake! Going w/ a bunch of friends to the lake and potluck bbq. We’re contributing chicken & veg kabobs, hot dogs, and Smores…yummy! πŸ™‚

    just found your site when googlng weekly meal plan! love everyones contribution. makes it much better with so many others input/options/ideas! here is my cooking list for the week:

    -chicken stir fry w rice
    -baked ziti(or a version of rachel rays lasagna bowls. pretty much ziti w some cottage cheese mixed into sauce!)
    -chicken rice casserole w zucchini in it instead of brocolli bc thats whats in the garden!
    -stuffed peppers
    -bbq meatball sliders from pioneer woman i think it is?
    -grilled cheese w bean and bacon soup
